It is becoming more clear every day that “the plan” is to make the best you can out of 2025 and then start another run in 2026. Therefore I would look at this draft as one to stock the shelves to be ready for that run and make the team as attractive as possible to a potential new coach. I would personally avoid any of the “too good to pass up” players at less desirable positions. If that too good player is there, use that as leverage for a trade back. I would be perfectly happy if we came out of the draft and priority rookie free agents with 5 OL, 3 DI, 2 CB and a S who are hopefully versatile enough to run any scheme a coach may want next year. That and a developmental QB with something that indicates upside. Naturally the chances of hitting on 12 players is almost nil, but by taking this many at each position the odds are decent we hit on a few.

It needs to be a heavy foundation draft. Both lines need help, especially on the defensive side.

I'm still confused as what the vision, or blueprint is for this team. My guess is unmatched speed everywhere, which isn't bad unless that's all you have.

💯! Let's get back to basics. I believe an above-average OL and DL will do wonders. Ross talks about sustainability, but without good OLs and DLs, inconsistency kills our drives, or keeps our defense on the field too long.

i am not sure i follow this. is your presumption that 2025 is the bridge year, and we are setting ourselves up to be really good in 2026? that doesnt make sense to me. it feels like 2026 is where it all might end, including potentially tua as well, the way his contract is set up and the lack of restructure suggests the team has lost some faith.

2026 will be the rebuilding year, we won't be in contention until 2028 at the soonest. And that's if the next GM does amazing work right out of the gate.

Having the fewest draft picks over a 3 years stretch in NFL history will doom this team for years. Add to that, we missed on most of the picks we did have during that time, it's just impossible to build a contender in the league with these facts.
