everytime I see someone wanting to pick a qb in the second round, I see red. It doesn't make any sense. You really think a Parcell's organization will put a team in the hand of a rookie QB. Drafting a qb in the second would be completely stupid. Let;s just say we finish 4-12(highly doubt that lol) and a top flight QB is sitting right on our lap, do you not draft him because you have another second round pick in Beck and another unknown second round pick QB. It doesn't make sense. If we draft a QB it better be in the sixth round or I will be pissed.

BTW, John Beck has franchise quarterback written all over when it comes to work ethic and passion for the game. That been said I hope it translate when he is on the field.

you should go to anOptometrist about your vison. I once was seeing different colors and it turned out to be a Lacerated eyeball.

You may get really pissed on draft day, because its not stupid to draft a QB you really like if you are unsure of what you have.

Beck's below average height and low release cause a high percentage of his passes to get knocked down.

I fully expect a QB to get drafted, its only matter of when.
 
i've accepted we're taking Henne. I just hope Parcells and crew can hold off on it til at least the 2nd 2nd rounder.
 
It depends who is around in Round 2. I also would rather wait until later to take a QB, but if Henne and Flacco are both on the board when we make our 2B pick, I think you have to take a look.

I agree, we should look later in the draft for a John David Booty, Dennis Dixon, or Erik Ainge it doesn't make since to draft QB's in the 2nd round back to back. I completely agree with you, what if Beck isn't that good and the rookie QB struggles? We have a high draft pick and maybe an elite QB sitting there for us to take. Then we can't invest another high pick in a QB three years in a row, the Lions did that with WRs and look where that got them.
 
Where do people get this notion that we can't take a QB in this year's draft because we took one last year? The jury is still out on Beck, and if he can't play the fact we spent a 2nd rounder on him last year means little to the new regime. They need to find their QB. Whether it's Beck, McCown or a rookie QB is up in the air.
 
I can tell you right now it isnt McCown. Beck still has a shot. I hate say it but if there is a QB on the board that impresses no matter what round we should take him. I like Beck and his work ethic but I am unsure of him. Saying that we shouldn't take another QB because of drafting Beck last year would be a poor reason. Having too much pride to admit you messed up gets a lot of teams into trouble every year. If you want to win in this league you have to be able to admit you messed up and move on. That is the exact problem we have had for the last decade.
 
1 q, why is it unlikely that we will go 4-12, i hope becuase you expect us to win more, because i certainly do.
 
I hope BP isn't so dumb that he will lock into one person for his pick at 32. My guess is that several very good players will fall to that spot and I hope BP and company will take the best player on the board regardless of what position he plays. If brohm falls to that spot I think you have take him, but we all know Henne and Flacco will be there, at least one of them, so I don't think either one of them are super values at that pick.
