Thats the thing though, the idea of letting your rookie sit for a whole year is not a thing. Except for the taylor/herbert scenario, a majority of these qbs eventually found their way on the field their rookie year. Ryan Fitzpatrick is nothing but a backup playing starter, and with a declining skill set it gets worse by the week.

You have to win in the NFL to be a quarterback. Ryan Fitzpatrick is 56-86-1 as a starter and 6-11 as a starter here. He wouldn't be starting for most of the NFL, so why should he start here? Not one playoff appearance in his entire career. If we had a great quarterback this conversation is different. Having fitz start so the team can endure another year like last year is foolish.
