Right now the Broncos have 60 wins when totaling all teams that they have beaten.
Miami has 53 wins when totaling all teams that they have beaten.
Assuming the Fins win out, and the Broncos lose @ Philly and beat KC at home: We would most likely lose to the Broncos do to SOV. But:
I cant believe I'm saying this but we need the Jets to win out. Since we've beaten them twice, we would get 4 additional wins in SOV.
Here is a crappy list I made quick to show how we could get in over the Broncos if they lost @ Philly and beat KC.
I have total wins/team/(future total wins)/(predicted schedule)
Denver - 9-7
9 cinci (10) (beat KC and lose @ NYJ)
3 cleveland (4) (beat Oakland, lose to Jax)
5 oakland (5) (lose to both Cleveland and Baltimore)
9 dallas (10) (beat Washington, lose to Philly)
9 patriots (11) (this cancels out with our Pats win so doesn't matter)
11 san diego (12) (win @ Tenn, play starters half and lose to Wash.)
8 giants (9) (win vs Carolina, lose @ Minnesota- Philly could catch Vikes)
3 kc (3) (losses to Cinci and Denver)
3 kc (3) (losses to Cinci and Denver)
= total of 60 total wins (67 predicted wins)
_______
Miami - 9-7
5 bills (6) (win one-either ailing Falcons or benched Colts)
7 jets (9) (wins @ Indy, vs Bengals- both teams not much to play for)
7 jets (9) (read above)
2 bucs (2) (lose @ NO and vs Atlanta)
6 panthers (7) (win one- either Giants or @ NO- players play half)
9 patriots (11) (this cancels out with our Pats win so doesn't matter)
7 jax (8) (lose @ NE, win @ Cleveland)
7 houston (8) (lose @ Miami, beat Pats-nothing to play for)
7 pitt (7) (lose vs Baltimore, @ Miami)
=57 (67 predicted wins)
All can definitely happen except Jets winning out but it could happen! Especially if we see Colts players getting benched. Jets are too physical and its not worth the injury IMO. I also dont trust the Cowboys and Giants winning games but I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the Broncos schedule.
Next tie breaking procedure is strength of schedule and our schedule easily beats the Broncos.
Playing in the stronger AFC East then the AFC West plus playing the Saints worked out nicely for us. It should put us over the top.
