Strike one name from the "QB of the future" discussion

Living in this part of the country, I have seen Vince Young play a lot. The only way he will ever stick in the NFL is at receiver. He throws sidearmed, and the only time he ever looks at more than one receiver is when he is flushed from the pocket.

My hope is that Lemon pans out, or that Miami can trade for Rivers, Brees, Volek, Schaub. This would allow them to address OL, WR and defense in the draft.

Volek is like 3-7 as a starter. No thank you. Rivers is still unproven.

We have plenty of RBs, don't need him.

mike vick & willis mcgahee had similar announcements, so i'll believe vince young is staying when i see it.

That's not Volek's fault. He has shown he knows how to make the throws and he can light it up. We need a QB that can make plays, not just manage.

Yeah you're right, RBs always sport the 2nd highest QB Rating in all of college football with a freakish 169.54, and thats with a group of recievers no one had even heard of before this season. Some of you guys really dont know what you are talking about and obviously havent kept up with Vince's progression as a passer. He wouldnt be my first choice but I wouldnt be disappointed at all if we eventually picked him. I would take him over Vick coming out of college in a heartbeat.

Young is a great runner with a great arm. But he lacks accuracy and he throws side arm. I live in Texas and I watch most of the longhorn games. I would not consider him a top ten draft choice anyway. He is a work in progress, I think the Dolphins should look into free agency first and draft a QB. I dont think Young is the answer. So far I like Brady Quinn or Marcus Vick if Lion-hart is not available.

Vince's throwing motion is considered a 3/4th, much like Phillip Rivers, who is actually closer to sidearm than Vince is. One factor is that Vince is 6'5, so ive never really seen him have any problems getting his throws over the upfront pressure. And as far as accuracy goes, he's thrown twice as many tds as interceptions this year and he continues to get better every game.

True but I just dont know if he could bring that to the NFL and definitely not right away. I dont think he is our answer for next season.

Young really should stick around for one more year. If he ever gets Mack Brown to let him progress as a passer rather than a runner, the guy does have the potential to be one of the top picks in the draft. As things stand now, I would say that he'd be a late first rounder at best. Nobody is staking their franchise on a guy who is a questionable passer, and doesn't have Mike Vick's feet or arm.
