Suggestion : Feature to vote for deletion of thread

With all the recent redundant and dumb threads lately, will it be possible to have a feature to vote for deletion of that thread. Kinda like the opposite of giving thanks to someone for a useful post, but except this would only apply to the OP. This way people will post more useful information or thoughts. So instead of giving "thanks" to someone, you would give them a "no thanks" or "delete" vote, and the number of people who voted and what they voted will reflect on the bottom of their post.

It would be nice if the thread starter had the option to delete their own thread. I had a problem creating one last night and ended up with 5 duplicates. Every time I went to preview, it created the thread, but no preview. And if the option is already there, could someone clue me in to where it is?

I don't know, any controversial thread, even if well composed, would be deleted

yeah due to varying opinions on this site on basically anything, thread deletion would not be a very good idea. It makes people try to think with the "crowd" rather then following their own opinions.
