A friend of mine who is a 49er-fan just told me that there is rumor that we are trading Suh to the 49ers. Anyone heard anything about that?

In fairness, trading him makes more sense than cutting him, which has been suggested.

The dead cap remains the same . . . .but we would at least get something for him.

I would ask for a 3rd or a 4th. The base isn’t totally unreasonable and we eat the guarantees.

That said the dead cap hit is too massive and he is still a top player at his position. Keep him for at least another year . . . Likely 2.

The rules on that changed a few years ago. Don't get it yet. How? Why?

We just traded for Quinn and took the dead cap along with the deal.

You can trade the dead cap. That changed in...2014 I think?

I would seriously doubt that but with Tannenbaum nothing would surprise me.

Have not heard but...This is actually one of the more feasible rumours de jour.

Considering they run a 4-3 under and already have (3) top players on rookie contracts...

6'7 292 Arik Armstead (1st round pick)
6'7 291 DeForest Buckner (1st round pick)
6'3 270 Soloman Thomas (1st round pick)

Their biggest need on the line is for an under tackle or nose tackle (where Earl Mitchell plays)....

They are going to play Suh QB $$$?

This is probably not happening.

The guaranteed money cap hit is accelerated and due immediately by the team dealing the player . . . Although a team can choose to split it over 2 years I believe.
