Sullivan Hired - GM

MM gave it his best. I think.
He did, he's just not equipped. I have zero doubt he was all-in, and its like many on the board said when he was hired...the goofy, player-friendly schtick would be great as long as they were winning.

Its not a knock, per se, not every coach is made-up of HC material...its exceedingly hard to find "that" guy at HC. 32 spots, and there's no guarantee any of those 32 are HoF HC level guys any given year. Probably helps a little to hire a guy that actually ever called a play at a coordinator position.

Sullivan was high on the list of candidates and I assume from the quick timing of the hire, this is someone the Fins really wanted

He needs to hit the ground running as we have a mess to clean up. QB situation, Head Coach needs to be hired, Salary Cap problems....we haven't done him any favors with the current situation

However, do a good job over 2026 and we can look much different in 2027 and beyond. There is tremendous upside after the initial pain

What has he won there? I ask again
3 Division titles and 3 playoff games. Both 3 more than we have in the last 15 years.

If your criteria is specifically someone who has won a Super Bowl, well only 5 coaches not named Andy Reid or Bill Belichick have won a Super Bowl in the last 10 years. Currently the only two options out there that have won one are McCarthy or Harbaugh ( which i would be fine with either) and they won it 13 and 15 years ago. Plus, no coach in the NFL has won a Super Bowl with two different teams.

So who is your best option?

tbh, the more i see of our new gm, there more I like him.

seems to be about the product on the field and not jsut the business side, seems to have the right ideals and mindset.. nowww if this stays the case or works out no one knows. and thats same with anyyy new gm hire.

but so far I am optimistic, and I am glad we took the guy who seemed the best candidate and didnt take another guy who althou good didnt seem as good, to try take a shot at harbaugh.. cause had we not got harbaugh ,we didn't put ourselfs in the best possible position. and from what i understand alot of this was due to the influence of troy aikman.. which if that is the case.. for all his dumb takes at times .. my respect and thank you for being an outside voice of logic.. that actually seems to have gotten through to ross

Also, they
After tonight, there's no way Mendoza is falling. He's a Raider...

Also, I dunno. They had 35 points at halftime. But only finished with 56. MENDOZA is clearly not a 2nd half QB.

At least..... That's the story that needs to get circulated lol

Developing: On the day the Dolphins finalized an agreement with GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, they finally reached out to John Harbaugh and let it be known that they, too, are in interested in him, per sources. So add Miami to the list of teams that would like to meet with Harbaugh.

Not wasting a first on any qb in this draft
You do realize we have more than 1 pick in this draft right? We have 5 picks in the top 100 and we currently pick 12th? 11th? It’s not unreasonable to think we use one of our 5 picks in the top 100 to pick up a prospect at the qb position.
