Sullivan Hired - GM

You do realize we have more than 1 pick in this draft right? We have 5 picks in the top 100 and we currently pick 12th? 11th? It’s not unreasonable to think we use one of our 5 picks in the top 100 to pick up a prospect at the qb position.
Agree

GB has dumped a lot of capital into that WR room. It should be more than just "intriguing" for what has been invested.
They did now, but I remember when Rodger’s was there they seemed to neglect it some years. We have so many needs he can definitely go BPA though and I would put wr as a need, lower priority than qb, edge, cb, ot, s, g, then wr, TE. But if a great one is available? Why not…

3 Division titles and 3 playoff games. Both 3 more than we have in the last 15 years.

If your criteria is specifically someone who has won a Super Bowl, well only 5 coaches not named Andy Reid or Bill Belichick have won a Super Bowl in the last 10 years. Currently the only two options out there that have won one are McCarthy or Harbaugh ( which i would be fine with either) and they won it 13 and 15 years ago. Plus, no coach in the NFL has won a Super Bowl with two different teams.

So who is your best option?
Yeah
He really ended up doing a great job last night as a playoff head coach

Says more about Jeff Hafley the DC that everyone seems to want, thr defense blew the lead at the end.
Maybe LaFleur knows his days are numbered.

Post-season teams don't usually allow 25 points in the 4th Quarter.
Sure, the Bears AVERAGED 25 ppg this year, but did they typically score 25+ in the fourth quarter of each game? (sarcasm)

Can LaFleur interview while still in the playoffs?

The Dolphins are conducting interviews and hope to finalize this within two weeks. (I think that's what I've read)

The Dolphins just hired a new GM who is very familiar with LaFleur.

I'm just connecting invisible dots.

Dave Hyde says Ross hasn’t decided yet on a reporting structure for the organization. It’s possible everyone in the building will report to Sullivan and not the owner.
Agreed in everyone reporting to GM

People like to knock GB's drafts...but what they fail to acknowledge is, they don't really use free agency often and they are always in the playoffs. Since 2000 they've been twenty times. So they have obviously been doing something right in their team building process. The sum of ALL parts is the key to team building.

We focused on getting the sexy name and/or the guys who could have high ceilings but had low floors. We've had 8 HC's and 5 GM's since 2000 and how many playoff appearances and only 1 playoff win since Jan 1 2000...?...dec 30 2000 vs Colts.

I'm ready for the packer way down in 305.

This guy Sullivan is brighter, detail oriented, articulate, patient and thorough and trained by the best for one of the best front offices for 2 decades, built by Ron Wolfe, passed down to Ted Thompson and to the current guy Gutesomething lol.

Green Bay, the city itself, is the exact opposite of allure than the city of Miami. On paper, it makes sense that we'd be able to attract whoever we want to live in Miami than Green Bay. And yet the results of wins and losses has been the exact opposite. You get guys to play in Green Bay who actually want to win. Hopefully Sullivan can bring that "win first" mentality to Miami

I love the fact we went after the best guy that they were looking for...they wanted strong scouting background, talent evaluation and team building....

I also love the fact they didnt fall to sign the GM to possibly appease a HC they lusted for such as Alexander...not to say he wasn't a fit...but they went and got the best guy....regardless of Harbaugh being free...that's shows strong direction...and I believe that was where Aikman came in...Troy didnt half ass this, he took it serious and was committed and the Dolphins executives did right in getting exactly what they sent out to do.
