Are you ready for some Favre or Pennington?
> Posted by hfialkov at 8:50:36 AM

Wow, as if a Jets-Dolphins season opener could get any more heated. Brett Favre in a J-E-T-S uniform.

It's not as if this hurts the Dolphins chances of winning the way QB Chad Pennington used to shred apart Miami DBs with those wounded ducks to Laveranues Coles.

Guys, guess who drafted Pennington in his last year with the Jets? That's right, Tuna.

Clearly, the Jets will hold onto Kellen Clemens to groom him under Favre, so that makes Pennington expendable.

Would you rather have Pennington transition into the Chad Henne era or Josh McCown?

Thoughts on Favre in a Jets uniform?

Go crazy.

Heres a a real CONVO STARTER!!!
Quarterback - Josh McCown, Chad Henne, John Beck

How many kept: Likely three, and maybe an extra arm on the practice squad that will likely be found on the waiver wire.

Summary: Overall, McCown has been the steadiest, but he's not overwhelming the youngsters. Henne has shown the

most upside, and was rewarded with three straight starts in practice this week. But can the rookie keep his

momentum going? Beck, who had the slowest start, is the guy with the most to lose. However, he seems to be

responding to his disappointing first week with an improved effort that might help him shed the nickname

"checkdown."

ummm...for what its worth guys, from the reports of camp,Henne clearL has been taking McClown and Beck to the cleaners...i MEAN,really CHALLENGING for the starting job,and I think I speak for everyone whos a Phin fan that its nice to see a rookie gaining the kind of confidence Henne is,and at the worst he could end up a backup, but we'll see...if Henne shines in the Bucs game....LOOK OUT!!!!

ummm...for what its worth guys, from the reports of camp,Henne cleary has been taking McClown and Beck to the cleaners,so its nto SO far-fetched for him to be the backup, but well see...if Henne shines in the Bucs game....LOOK OUT!!!!
uhmmm, no he hasn't. You should probably read better. He's done well for a rook, but he's far from outperforming the other 2.

No. Henne has been performing well, but McCown has easily been the worst performer in camp. He started well enough, but has been steadily regressing, and the more time in camp the better a player is supposed to get, not worse.

I pray Pennington comes here. He gives us a shot at .500 and that will help lure free agents next year.

That the Sun-Sentinel evaluation of McCown is incorrect.

where does it say this in the article???

Are we even discussing this article????

It reads to me like McCown has been the steadiest but is not out performing the other two.

Henne has been playing well and has shown the most upside, being rewarded with three straight starts.

Beck had a slow start but seems to be improving.

What's going on here????

Well any way to talk about the article a little bit.....one thing i found promissing and I'm really excited to read was this quote.

Carey and Long are above average bookends who should help the running game churn out yards. Long's learning and growing each day, and getting better against the speedy pass rushers. By mid-season 2008's No. 1 pick should have adjusted to the speed of the pro game

It seems to me that although this line has had it's problems it's steadily improving. Now if we can get these guards sorted out and at least have one pulling consistantly by week one, our offense should be decent.

I was disagreeing with the article's statements regarding McCown. Considering this is the same staff that has lovingly nicknamed all of our QBs, I feel pretty good in my opinion.

Thanks...I'll now proceed to never read anything else about the Dolphins unless it comes from one person, Barry jackson, who clearly knows more than the rest of the population.

i dont know what your problem is,maybe its the time in which I posted the article, either way, your attitude towards me for having an opinion is overblown, immature and unnecessary...I have yet to take a stab at your critism, yet my opinion have been pourin from the wounds....:shakeno:

you can give an opinion without making fun of someone, thats just silly and kidish...

another point to my observation in a recent post, dont get personal with me over my opinon, because it just goes to show how very childish you are....btw....theres at least a weeks worth of info saying that Beck and McCown haven't been performing at top level, infact, why do you think Sparano hasn't set a starting quaterback yet???Cause Beck and McCown aren't pulling away from the rookie, infact the rookie is closing in on them. So,just to reiterate this again,I know what I'm talking about, and dont need your opinion in my thread,if all your going to do is take shots at me,and if thats the case, grow up,or stay out of my threads....its that simple...

And again,I didnt say Henne will be starting,I just said if he shines...look out..thats all,so maybe YOU should go back and check on what I wrote
