### Besides retaining defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle, Joe Philbin decided not to fire any of his assistants, though defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers reportedly is expected to become Jets defensive coordinator.
Some Dolphins players would have preferred Philbin promote Rodgers to coordinator. Players have criticized Coyle for strategic decisions as well as his rotation of defensive linemen. Rodgers is very well liked by his players.
### Beyond Ja’Wuan James and Jarvis Landry, the 2014 draft picks that the Dolphins are most bullish about are guard Billy Turner (the front office conveyed to him that it sees him a potential 2015 starter if he can seize the job) and defensive end Terrence Fede.
There are maturity issues with Walt Aikens, mixed views on Jordan Tripp and uncertainty with Matt Hazel and Arthur Lynch, who said he's healthy after recovering from a fracture in his lower back.

Retaining Coyle and letting Rodgers walk will probably be a massive blunder. That's just the way it goes in Dolphin land...

I don't believe in Philbin. I don't believe in Coyle. And I also don't believe in these players. Miami Dolphins are going nowhere.

Ross/Philbin/Coyle our own horrific human centipede

Better hope that qb can carry you again joe philbin...billy turner sieze the moment son...

I don't understaNd how no one on the staff walks the plank for what transpired in 2014...they better upgrade the personnel killing us that were playing for us or it will be more of the same

The hc has basically said the positional coaching isn't the issue...the personnel are...I hope this time thy see the writing on the wall and actually do something about it before its too late

Philbin certainly has his work cut out for him. The only things that could save us at this point is if Hickey hits on a few superstars, and I think McCain could potentially be one, and Philbin has been saving something to add to the offense, like much more uptempo. If those things don't happen we'll probably finish 8-8 again, but if we start out slow we could be looking at a top pick in 2016. Any good QBs coming out next year?

I know Joe had to explain to Ross why he should stay. Maybe what you said is true, and Joe has some attainable plans. I can only hope so. After a year of Lazor/ Tannehill, maybe they open it up even more this year.

I'm sure your boy, Tim Tebow, will still be available.

I think Turner and Fede are going to both end up major contributors next year. The other mid round picks are very disappointing so far.

Rodgers is a good coach and will be missed.

philbin is cutless. I cant believe I wanted him here. offensive minded coaches are soft. coyle is hurting the team, but philbin doesn't want to hurt anyones feelings. so now we lose one of the coaches on the staff that is decent. GREAT!!!

Why? We have our QB.

I see he's taking a page out of Shula's book, staying ridiculously faithful to his defensive coordinator. That'll work out great.

I understand. The organization is incompetent from the top down. Reminds me of my current employer.
