I'm a native Lauderdalien, and yesterday I drove down to te keys to get away from the Hurricane. The weather down here was weak all night long. I woke up this morning at 7:00am, and the wind is roaring down here right now. Maybe we're getting one of the last feeder bands, but this hurricane hasn't gone away like I think they expected it too when they made the 8:30pm decision....

I'll be driving back up to Lauderdale this morning, but I have a feeling this game will not be able to get played tonight. There is simply too much bad weather still lingering around Dade and Broward. There is going to be scattered damage everywhere, and power outages have reached over 70,000 in Broward county alone....

Maybe the conditions will improve by kickoff, and I know that's what everyone is hoping for, but I can tell you, it's ugly in the keys right now. If it's ugly down here, 100 miles south of PPS, it got to be bad in Dade and Broward still....

I'll be at the game tonight hurricane or not. Good luck to all of you heading out as well...

You're forgetting the NFL and the Dolphins want this game played today period. If they played those games in the blizzard then some remaining feeder bands won't be an issue. THe NFL waited until the 11th hour to push back that week of games in September 2001. Do you truly believe some rain and wind will keep Huizenga and the league from playing it tonight? The Steelers are also putting the pressure on as they want to get home and start preparing for next week just like us. THe pressure has to be on from Vegas too with all the people who had already bet on the game. It's happening tonight period trust me.
 
what are you talking about the weather is fine up here in Hollywood. I think your overreacting.

The storm is pretty fast moving - it should be off the west coast by late afternoon / early evening.

Im driving down from Tampa,assuming the bridges are open.

Its 9 am and we have 60 mph winds........

The "eye" is about 30 miles east of my house.

I cant believe I still have power.
 
My uncle in Boynton (about 45 minutes from Miami) and my friend in Cocount Creek (about a half hour from Miami) said that the storm pounded them for 2 hours and then left. He said as far as the weather goes, everything is fine, there's just some damage and stuff. By 8 tonight, they'll be able today from the news i've heard. I may be wrong but i'm just going by what i was told
 
im coming from fort myers.....miami needs to bring us a win to take our minds off the hurricane
