Sunday Ticket Price

You should try again using the instructions at the top of page 4.

I did. Told them I was sick of hearing newbies getting great deals for free and all that. It all came down to they gave me 20/offmonth for 2 years but only 10 off/month for the ticket, and I just didnt feel like negotiating anymore.

10 off/month for 2 years
free HD for 2 years which is 10/month
5 off/month for the verizon bundle
and 10/month for the ticket for 6 months.

So, I had already called about a month ago and got $20 X 6 months plus the early bird special price @ $53.99 x 6mos. Decided to call back last night and see what I could get using the recommended instructions. The first guy I talked to talked my ear off for about 5 min. about what a "great deal" I already had, and "there is nothing like watching the game in your own house". I could tell the guy got off on talking people into staying without giving them anything. So I hung up on him, called back, got a very nice girl on the line. I told her I had just called and the call had gotten dropped. Using the instructions she almost instantly offered me the free ticket.

Unfortunately since I already had and existing deal for the ticket she could not take my current deal off to add the free ticket. So she gave me and additional $5 off a month, plus a one time $150 credit to my account. All in all I am paying $24.99 total for the ticket.

Moral of my story, if you get a jerk off when you call, hang up an immediately call back. tell them that your call got dropped. Hopefully you get someone better the second time.

Thanks for the great advice on this thread.

THIS WORKS... just did it. been a customer for 12 years.

as the instructions said, they offered me a discounted deal that was NOT free... I balked at it, and was put on hold for about five minutes while he evidently, negotiated with a supervisor, and ultimately offered the sunday ticket to me for free....

dude, you just saved me like $300.... that's so sick.

I called yesterday. I will preface this to say that I am a 10 year subscriber to DTV and have had the NFL package each of those years. I have also had premium channels and am a good customer with no late payments. I asked for "retention" and went right to a customer specialist. I told them that I wanted to cancel DTV and premium channels as the prices we're to high and I was also irked that they were giving the package away free to new customers. I was very polite but in a tone that this guy knew I wasnt just fishing. He offered me the ticket free for the year and in addition gave me a 15.00 credit for the next 6 months on my regular bill. Was all pretty simple. It was easier than I thought. I advise all others to try. There is nothing to lose by doing this.

i just called and the girl wouldn't budge off my 28.99 deal I am getting for 6 months.

Note to you guys I signed up two years ago...with a contract..If you try and get them to budge and you have a contract they will not give you anything..

They will say you are not eligible I tried it last year..but I actually ended up moving anyway and got it free..I got an extra box last year so I had to sign another contract so I will be calling and see if they will give me anything off..I really doubt they will.
