Considering Sabans quick and effectiveness role of a true coach this year, and with so much money in cap as well as position UPGRADES that are vital to a teams success of being victorious Is the SUPERBOWL really a far fetch goal..
I say No...We can do it...I think we can... whats your opinion?:dolphins:

No
Let's not forget that of the teams the Fins beat these were included: Titans, Bills, Raiders, Backup-Patsies, Jets, Saints.
Also, despite some problems at LB and DBs they remained relatively healthy whih is not a given in today's NFL. Just look at the Eagles.

They still have many holes, they need a tackle, an interior OL, another WR, LB, DT, CB (plenty of) and S. Oh, a QB of course. As the salary cap will increase this year there are plenty of teams with lots of money under the salary cap, so good FAs will cost a lot. And Miami is only 25 Mio under if they release lots of their current players. Releasing Madison, Seau, TJones and Howard will not help alone. And for every released player you need a capable replacement. If you release e.g. McIntosh you will need somebody to replace him which is at least like him: solid, but not spectacular. You won't sign these for 1 mio/year as a LT.

Therefore I am excited what Saban has already achieved, but SuperBowl is out of question. Even with all possible improvement I can not see the Fins being at the same level as today's Colts, Seahawks or Bengals (which BTW are already 20 mio under the cap) in one year

you bring up very good points...Remember a Dolphan can Dream lol:dolphins:

Nothing is ever impossible, but the phins winning a super bowl next year is not probable. There are still alot of holes to fill up on the defensive and offensive line. If the AFC is still as strong of a conference as it was this year than i don't think we will be able to make it this year.

Get real

If we get Carr up in this along with T.O. along with Julian Peterson and a 1st round CB AKA my boys from BC or VT

I think this team has the oppernuity to go very deep into the playoffs

Super bOWL... EH but at least if we do go to the super bowl we have home feild advantage :D

With Frerotte at Qb we will never make the playoffs.

super bowl no way i belive we will be in super bowl in 3 years that will be saban 4th season coaching oh and guess what that year 2009 the super bowl is in no other than MIAMI

Not necessarily true. Hell, had they won against the Pats the first time (which could have happened if Chambers had held onto the ball), then Sunday's game would have been for the division title. Not saying they would have won, as NE would have played all their starters, but the opportunity would have been there.

With Gus, though, I can't see this team going deep in the playoffs, though, unless he can be more accurate on his throws, especially the deeper ones, and minimize the mistakes as he consistently did at the end of this season.

Don't get me wrong, I would still much prefer a new QB next year, or at least for the Fins to draft a kid if Frerotte stays around another year.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda, thats what we will be saying next year if Gus starts. Hes terrible, if we had a respectable Qb we would have made the playoffs this year.

I think the playoffs are very realistic next year for you guys but you have to upgrade the QB position to start thinking SB.

No SB trip for Miami for at least two or three years, but Saban will get us there. Playoffs next year, yes...SB not quite yet.

Right now - today ... the answer is NO ....

Depending upon the additions, playoffs are entirely possible next year ... but we won't have a good picture until AUG ...

Depth is still a big problem as a whole .... need more LBs, good Safeties and 1 or 2 Lineman [C / T] and another WR .... and of course -- QB

The biggest question mark of all is how we start next year .... if it is anything less than 5-3 over the 1st 8 games ... then even the playoffs will be highly suspect. But as Saban has shown this year ... we will play our best football at the end of the season ... and what a good feeling that is !!

2006, playoffs? Yes.

Superbowl............er....not quite yet.

We had a turbulent year full of ups and downs, but we ended the season right. 6 games in a row! We need to fill some holes this year, make a decent playoff run and use next year to tweak the roster and win it all!

Wow! Way to use only the facts that substantiate your view point! How about that we beat the Chiefs, Broncos, and Panthers too. All three were in contention in the final weeks for a playoff spot and two of them made it to the playoffs. There hasn't been a team in the last decade that was playing as well as the Colts before the Dungy tragedy.

I see our boys in the playoffs next year. I wouldn't be stunned to see them in the big dance either!
