Superbowl 8 on ESPN NOW

Csonka runs wild.....That was an excellent Vikings team we destroyed. The Purple People Eaters.

The No-Names gave up only 7 offensive points in two Superbowl wins

Ahhhh sweet memories!! What a great 4th down stand before the half.

Superbowl VII and VIII were both just on. I wasn't alive for those days, being I'm only 19, but man it looked amazing. It must be the best feeling in the world to have been able to see the fins win those Super Bowls. I just hope Saban can bring us another one. One that my generation can enjoy! GO FINS!

My favorite Superbowl was SB VII, January 14, 1973,,,final score Dolphins 14 Redskins 7.....Remember how the Skins scored their only touchdown?? Garo Yepremian "Did a Fiedler" and a Redskins player ran back his muffed kick attempt for a TD.
:roflmao:

It's amazing to think that Griese only threw seven passes in Super Bowl VIII.
Most quarterbacks throw that on the opening drive.

It was awesome........I was 10 and 11 for those two Superbowls, it spoiled me forever.

We dominated, if not for the WFL we might have won 3 in a row.

Yep, the no-names have never gotten their full due.

They shut out The Skins offense in Superbowl 7 and only gave up 7 points to the Vikes......no defense can claim that kind of dominance over a two year period.

Only one player in the Hall off that defense...ridiculous.

Thats how dominant our running game was.....and our Defense.

Of course the rules were different then, but wasn't Griese 7 out of 8 in that game?

Is there any way to get videotape or DVR copies of both of these seasons? I remember I was 6 and 7 years old and living on a military base in Italy at the time the Fins won it back to back...they showed us the highlights of the games a week later during the movie previews.

I had to listen to the Superbowls on the radio with my older brother,,,been a Fins Fan ever since....33 years. :)

That was heartbreaking to watch then but pretty funny now. You have to wonder if Csonka's warning to Garo two years earlier in which Csonka picked Garo off the ground by his shoulder pads, in front of his team and threatened [font=Verdana,Arial, Helvetica] "If you miss this kick, I'll kill you," had any lasting effect on the little guy.

Ahhh, I miss those kinder and gentler days of Dolphins football

Yeah, I have heard that Griese gave Garo that warning. I have watched Garo's muff over and over again.....it looked like he was doing a volleyball spike after whiffing on his attempt to kick the ball??? It is funny to watch now and look back on it, especially since we won the game.

I remember waiting for him to something sensible like run out of bounds. You know that to this day, that is what most of us older fans remember when we think of Garo and probably the only one he remembered. It had to be the most clutzy non-kick in NFL history.

I'll didn't know Marv Levy was a coach on the 72 Redskins. Special teams coach. I hated Bubbalo when he was there but he was funny. 'What kind of chicken **** call was that"....
