There is more public support from Dolphins player for Richie than there is for Martin. That probably explains why he was afraid to talk. Blaming the victim. Like blaming the rape victim. "Oh she shouldn't have been wearing that." "Oh he should have fought him." In my opinion, The Dolphins got off easy, Martin could have went postal and bought a gun and shot everyone. Though it seems more people in the locker room and on this board would have respected Martin more if he did bring a gun and threaten Incognito, but than we would also had posters calling Martin a thug. So in a no-win situation.

Richie Icognito said on radio last year that he took Tannehill's credit card & bought a jet ski. I honestly believe Icognito would've intentionally missed blocks if Tannehill wouldn't have bought him that Jetski.

if martin had gone through the correct channels and not walked out on the team i think the story would be much different...

why would he need to get a gun? your sensationalizing this as bad as the media....get real bro, martin was just a bitch with no backbone.

Richie is getting what he deserves, but the only way IMO that Martin is a victim based on his actions speaking louder than words over the last 6 months since the VMs and staging a dramatic hissyfit high profile escape 2 weeks after he played the same prank on Gardner, is if he's a naive dupe being controlled by his lawyer parents and legal shysters who smell blood in the water of some deep pockets. Otherwise, he's a complicit co-conspiritor in what looks very much like a contrived and controlled extortion attempt.

Martin went to college and is an intelligent guy.

Something is still missing from this story.

ADULT 300 pound linemen are not bullied by ANYONE.

Bullying is about power dynamics, not necessarily physical size.

okay mithga13, i see a lot of thumbs down but no reply as to why...

You see this is a very HOT button topic nowadays, 'Bullying'.

Everyone seems to know it is important and MUST be addressed.

Offensive linemen get paid millions to SHOVE and PUSH other huge guys around for 60 minutes.

We are not talking about an uneducated child who needs sympathy and needs to be helped.

He is a college graduate from Stanford, both his parents are lawyers. Something is missing from this story still.

I'm assuming I go thumbs down because of the bitch with no backbone comment...but seriously who pays for a trip your not going on, martin could have said no...how come Dallas Thomas didn't pay $15k for a Vegas trip? this whole story makes no sense.

I'm not suggesting it's so but bringing up the "gay" possibility, his secret being discovered and as one scenario, RI trying to "man him up." He's a smart, educated player just coming into his prime (well maybe) so if this is the missing element, coming out would be a ground-breaking, stereotype-shattering event. This is not Jason Collins teamless at the end of his career. This is someone young and vibrant competing in the trenches, the most "macho" gladiator pit on the field, based on strength and technique. He'd be a pioneer. If this admittedly-unfounded supposition were to be accurate, perhaps he's folded under the peer group pressure of influential homosexual rights groups encouraging him to out himself - and just couldn't take it anymore.

IMO, Richie could still salvage his career if he plays the "I'm so sorry" card. Maybe not with the Dolphins, but with the rest of the league.

It's clear to me that people know he crossed a very serious line, but I don't think anyone's really calling him the anti-christ or anything (ok, maybe Schefter).

If he's smart enough he'll announce how sorry he is about everything. How he didn't intend to hurt anyone. How he's going to seek help so he can change for the better. How he just wants to play football. Etc. etc. etc.

Unless there's something else going on that we don't know about (which is entirely possible) that could make his team take an "offensive" approach instead.

I personally think the Dolphins should've gotten rid of him a long time ago, but you know... Jeff Ireland.

Also, if the rumors about Martin's mental issues and suicidal tendencies are correct, how can you put your trust on this guy to protect the blind side of your QB of the future?! That would be enough for me to fire JI and maybe even coach Philbin. But I digress.

Just a question......You been a member since 2011,have 5 post...so you don't come in here ever to talk football and such, but when a sh**storm hits....well here you are with a opinion.
Why now?

that's when all of these types of people come out....none of them were her when we were 3-0...then a lot came out during the 4 game losing streak....now they're all out in full force
