That sucks the Bears signed Russell. I never heard about it. So he has to be on their 53 man roster right? Why wasn't Russell our KR/PR to begin with. I never heard anything bad about his returning just about the blocking. What was/is obvious is the guy is explosive. Damn...

I believe Russell is on their practice squad and not the 53 man roster. Not sure if we can sign someone off of somebody elses practce squad though. Anyone know the answer to that?

If he is on the PS Miami can sign him to the roster. You can sign anyone off anyone else's PS to the roster.

From Wannys press conference he said that the deep ball was called but didnt have time to develop. O-line needs work. Qb needs reps and time.

They can replace Brightful with any number of players, but the personnel staff was focused on Texas Tech rookie Wes Welker, who holds the NCAA record for career punt-return touchdowns with eight.

This is actually a good sign from Wanny. Watching Brightful do that a few times, I was like "That guy is lucky he ain't playin for Parcells." Maybe Wanny's gonna try the tough approach now.

Cutting Brightful was the easy thing to do, the way he played. Even that last long punt return was the result of really bad coverage by the Bengals. I could have gotten most of those yards. :D

Benching Wade Smith was also an easy call. He was bad, very bad. Wanny struggles with the tough calls, giving guys extra games to hang themselves with bad play instead of just benching them. You could argue that Fiedler was the exception, but he had four years people! :eek:

I can almost believe Wanye H. called down and ordered Feeley be started.

As to Smith, he should have been benched his second or third game. How long ago was that?

As for Wayne calling down, or maybe Spillman, I truly believe that is the ONLY way Wannstedt is starting Feeley. Fiedler still looks like he is in shock. He's not even carrying the clipboard...sitting, listening to the plays in his helmet. Boy, he looked dejected. Not that I feel sorry for him b/c I don't.
