If Tua is gone, Simmons, and Chase Young are gone and we do not trade down. Which non-QB player would you be ok with taking at #5?

Personally, I would go with Tristan Wirfs but try to trade down if there is anything good on the table.
 
Okudah. Let’s make this the best secondary ever. I am partially joking but I do like the idea of making strengths stronger. It begs the question, is it better to be fully balanced at all positions or dominate in specific positions or phases of the game

I think DL is the only unit where it makes sense to be dominant because of the amount of subs normally needed and the flexibility it offers in different packages and formations.

Derrick Brown

Browns impact on our line probably has an even more effect on the secondary than an outstanding player as Okudah. Browns impact can also elevate the play of a good DB into being a notch better due to His added pressure and impact on opposing QB's. And thats not even mentioning his effect on the running game.
He'd make our Defence elite IMO. Okudah also exceptional but IMO Brown would be much more impactful.
 
You only listed 3 players and there are 4 spots ahead of us, so I am wondering who else is gone.
I would say, for value and need, best pure left tackle available. Is that Wills?
 
if burrow/tua/herbert are gone at 5 the dolphins will trade down a bit and love should be available with that pick.
 
I mean if we don’t land our QB then what does it matter? I mean I love Okudah but that would be a luxury pick, the best OT? To protect who? Another DT? I mean I love Brown but after Wilkins last yr? I have been burned by this franchise so many times, who knows.
 
I doubt that there is a surprise at 5, in that it is highly unlikely to be anything but a QB, UNLESS Burrow, Tua and Herbert are ALL off the board ... though ‘possible’, so very unlikely ....

Equally, Brown, Okudah or even Simmons would be AWESOME!

Sadly, the only QB starved teams we could trade with are JAX - 9, or LV - 12 .... don’t see any other top 10 teams that would trade up to 5 for any other player ... if one wanted to trade down a couple and still get a great player ...
 
Okudah. I'm ex Defensive Back so I'm biased. Plus Cornerbacks are next in line after a pass rusher these days when it comes to player ranking on Defense. I'm ok offloading Howard if that scenario played out. His injury cv isnt great.
