i was. nugent buried that 54 yarder at the end of the 4th, this would have been from 57 i think. i would have gone for the kill there, was very happy to see them punt.

I agree, I thought game over, guess they were playing the field position battle since their defense was pretty fresh because of their lack of snaps in the second half.

When I saw Lewis sending the punter out there, I thought he lost his mind.

If he misses or it's blocked you essentially give the game away. Understandable while both coaches opted not to try 50+ in OT.

Marvin Lewis saved us. Brian Billick in 2007, part 2.

That kicker they got ****ing CRUSHED that 54 yarder. He woulda smoked that FG in OT.

Yes. Very surprised. Terrible call by Marvin Lewis. BTW, how long has he been there? 20 years?

I agree, the first kick would have been good from 65 it seemed. Sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit

Yeah Miami would've had the ball near the 50 if he missed. If it was in regulation and the game was tied with 2-3 seconds on the clock, I kick then.

If you miss it its game over...I think it's a good call. Our offense had been blah all night and we were backed up. Thankfully we finally got a PI and flipped the field.

but its not really game over with our offense. dolphins would still have to get a couple 1st downs to get in fg range, thats certainly no guarantee. as herm edwards said, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. bengals played not to lose there. if nugent didnt just drill a 54 yarder maybe i punt, but that kick would have been good from 60+, gotta give a shot there.

Yeah but still the dolphins would of had great field position. He didn't want to risk it there.

To me the worst thing they did was the play call right before that. They had been money on intermediate third downs all day, yet they inexplicably throw a sideline pass that wasn't even open and wasn't how they had been experiencing success in the second half. I didn't realize the fG was possible until afterwards because I was so excited about the Bengals stopping themselves.
