Two years ago Lippett was an emerging talent, someone with really good skills when the ball was in the air. He has limitations, mostly lack of speed, and with the ACL maybe that was affected even more.

Sorry to see him go, though.

Achilles injuries are rough and many athletes do not come back the same. It's unfortunate, but I doubt he'll ever reach the potential he flashed pre-injury.

Achilles injuries are probably the worst in terms of an athlete making a full recovery. He was never fast, but he was noticeably slower in preseason than he was in 2016.

Wish him the best. Came here as a WR/CB project and really worked his ass off to become a solid starter and playmaker on defense before the injury. Hope he catches on elsewhere (outside of the AFCE) and makes a full recovery.

One of my favorite players on the Fins -- a delight to watch him work a game, even with his limited top end speed, the guy was just a football player.

That injury tho... wow. Hoping he can work on it, rehab to the 95th percentile, and be back next year.

He's one of those guys I wanted to see grow into the position over the next couple of years....a shame.

Even all the good plays he was far from a good corner in 2016.

Shame, but he’s not a player to worry about.

When he was in the draft, I thought Lippett would be a Patriot. Seemed like their kind of guy with position versatility, work ethic etc. I wish him well and hope he can come back.

I didn't know Gase was a Michigan State fan, maybe we will go after Brian Lewerke to back up Tannehill... if all goes well. Sounds like he was a Lippett fan, maybe he will be back if nobody picks him up.

I'm disappointed but Lippett was always a CB who didn't posses the fluid motion that guys at that position usually have. His athleticism was already lacking a little bit before the injury and that injury can be just terrible to a player's physical ability, much more so than knee injuries are nowdays, assuming they got fixed correctly.
