Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for 81 yards on just 17 carries (4.8 ypc). Brown finished with 43 yards on 10 carries and Ricky finished with 39 yards on 7 carries.

Nothing to write home about, but better than I'd of thought from simply watching the game. Hopefully, the running game will continue to improve as the season progresses and the offensive line gets into a groove.

The thing that had me the most heated was when I saw the halftime stats and it showed Ronnie Brown with only 4 carries. That is just totally ridiculous IMO.

Why we don't run the ball more is beyond me. This goes back to last year. Ricky and Ronnie should get New York Giants type carries. 20 carries a piece. Not kidding.

How many of those yards came in the 4th quarter while the falcons were in a prevent D?

Not sure why we got into the dinkin' dunkin' thing either. Sparano & Co. have stated repeatedly that this is a run first offense. Gotta blame Henning & the O-Line for this stinker. Our Defense did the best they could to keep us in it.

I remember we were starting drives throwing on first downs in the 2nd quarter already.. way to bail on the run.

Yep. He shouldve had like 1 or 2 while Ricky had 10 or so. That wouldve been the smart thing.

Thats the problem with stats in the first half when we ran the ball on 1st or 2nd we got no where.
So if its 3rd and 15 and ronnie runs for 9 its helps his avg but doesnt tell the story

If they are going to rotate running backs they need to feed them the ball so they get enough carries each to get it going.. We have all seen where neither Ricky or Ronnie will rip off a big one until they have 15 - 20 carries under their belt.

Yea and one drive killer we ran Polite twice. Seriously he had 23 carries last year total. I feel like we call good plays but at terrible times. I feel like if Ronnie was on another team he would receive his 20 carries a game and average 100 yds. He needs to get the ball more and also catch more balls out of the backfield via screens not dumpoffs.com

Im pretty sure he feels that way too

I think they forgot that if you keep pounding the run no matter the situation, defenses will tire out a lot faster and opens up the Playaction and passing game in general a lot more. I remember when the Playaction was a staple of ours, how the times have changed.
