Biggest offseason move: Adding Surtain. The Chiefs were so-so at best on the corner, but Surtain gives them a guy who has man coverage skills. He might not be the player he was three years ago, but he is still a significant upgrade over what the Chiefs played with last season.

What the heck is he talking about? He certainly didn't drop off any last year. Does this guy examine the player/play or just the stats? What a moron.

Surtain has done nothing less then produce the best damn CB defensive plays year after year....to say he fell off is like saying Tim Couch is ready to have MVP year since he spent a year not playing in a game.

If media wants to talk about people falling off, talk about Champ Bailey or someone.

Bailey is the most overrated piece of crap corner there is imo i think Surtain is a top 3 corner with probobly Chris McCallister being the best

Pricko also does not really seem to follow the game but copies from what he heart.

So Johnson (the drafted LB of the Chiefs) runs around blocks? That exactly the crap one could read before the draft and just after the draft. From what I read from the Chief's preseason this guy is awesome. Vermeil called him the best LB he ever coached.
I am just fed with so called sports journalists who are too lazy to try to get up tp date and get information first hand.

Yea, Prisco, you are absolutely right...he is not the player he was 3 years ago, he's better than he was 3 years ago...I think he must have Surtain mixed up with Madison...that is the only explanation for this remark...

well, he was saying Surtain was MUCH better than the chiefs CBs. and just added that he has declined somewhat from previous years.

and when a player is traded or cut, his popularity and his reputation decrease a bit.

drop off in his performance / numbers??? surely he did, which is why i didnt mind seeing him out the door.

2003 7 for 59

however, he did pick up 4 or so more tackles last season than the season before. in 2003 he was busy picking off passes.

maybe with the current defense he'd be able to focus more on receivers
