So what does this mean never heard or seen something like this I understand he wants to finish his degree but is going to come back into the nfl afterwards and what's a student/assistant coach is he going to be a student with coach priviledges? someone enlighten me please:confused:

Basically he is taking an entry-level college coaching job...

...I think it's a good move for him if he feels he can't make the team. Good luck to him.

He's going to finish his degree and be an Assistant coach while in school. As far as coming back into the NFL, I couldn't even guess if he would try it. He probably realized that he had no chance of making the team and decided not to waste his, or our, time by staying. I wish him well in his schooling and future endeavors. At least he was smart enough to go back to school and finish his degree.

Tony Pape did the same thing. A couple of years ago he decided not to report to camp. He said since he had little to no shot of making the team he was too burnt out from NFL Europe to go through the camps. He returned the next year though. I believe he's a back up in San Diego right now.
