Hey,Dan was slow but before the achilles injury,Dan was like a ballat dancer inside
the pocket area. His pocket awareness was great.

That's my point exactly you don't have to best athlete to be the best QB. Mike Vick D Mcabb and Culpepper 0 superbowls. Tom Brady 3 superbowls.

Jason Campbell would be nice along with Brown Benson Or Caddie

smith is as mobile as rothelesburger, leftwich isnt very mobile though

all qbs are athletic or they wouldnt be in the nfl

but he cant throw like Ben. Athletic qbs are great but a qb has to be able to make the throws as well.

mcpherson/ campbell at 2?

:roflmao::roflmao:

first of all, mcpherson is a huge ? with all the crap that went on at FSU and no one has him in the first round, let alone top 5.

and campbell is mobile, but not like what you think he is.. just because he's black doesn't make him fast.

How about we just get the guy who has ALL that?

He can throw for a HIGH %
He can run and knows when TO run
He can actually THINK and absorb a complicated system
He has background with Linehan

I mean why is this so hard guys?

He is sitting right there waiting for us and he WANTS to come to Miami and from all accounts he and Saban are in regular close communication. And the 49ers are idiots who want to trade down or pick Braylon Edwards who is FAR from a sure thing.

Guys get real, drafting Alex Smith is an absolute NO-BRAINER.

Why don't we get a guy who actually fits the description that Linehan wants. A pocket passer, cannon for an arm, nice size, can move around if needed once in a while (Culpepper was not drafted by Linehan and Linehan was the one who made him a consistent passer), and is smart. How bout Andrew Walter?

The only problem with "mobile" QBs is that they tend to be less effective when they are scrambling and they tend to get hurt. This is why coaches try to keep QBs in the pocket. I'd prefer to have a QB who has good pocket awareness and can move away from the rush when necessary but who passes from the protection of the pocket.

Hmmm, it seen the playoffs last year were full of athletic QB's, even one in the SB, who chose not to use his athletic ability because he wanted to be known as a pocket QB.
