The announcers were saying that Denver could release Matt Mauck and if they do Saban would probably pick him up. They said that Mauck was with Saban at LSU so he probably has his eyes on him. Don't bash me for the post just passing it along.

I was about to Post it. They said he is a very smart kid, and that he picked up the play book very fast. They are high on the kid and his knowledge. Well, Saban knows Rohan Davey, he knows Matt Mauck better then most people we shall see.

Mauck looked really good about a year ago but seems to have slipped....they have Bradley Van Pelt now backing up Jake Plummer. I dont think Mauck would be that much better than what we have now.

Mauck did very well last year in the preseason and even though he is unproven in regular season, it couldn't hurt to bring him in for league minimum and try him out. he is still young and has a greater possibility at being a franchise QB than AJ does.

I have a feeling the Broncos are keeping this guy. They also say Duke, the TE converted. he is raw, but at 230,000 dollars, we have 2nd claim on any of these players. And how about 5'7 Quintin Griffin moving 2 LB's back on a run.

Yeah it's too late for this season but whoever is brought in would have a whole season to learn the playbook and compete for the job next year.

So in other words, any player that has ever played for NS or met him on the street is a candidate to become a Miami Dolphins if the get released....well these talking heads have been saying the same thing about every LSU player on an NFL roster for weeks so I guess that eventually....they'll be right.

I dont think Nick will bring a guy in becuase he coached him in college.... They are entirely different beasts.

Personally I would like to see Couch given a shot... We need a vet. Draft a kid next year.

It seems to me like Davey is a better pro prospect, but I may be wrong. I still don't think either are anything better than backups at this point though.

Wasn't the same basic stuff said about Davey & you see how interested Saban was in him?

its not too late if they come in as the third QB. that way, you can baby them along without ever having to see the field until they get up to speed, but who knows what will happen

Shanny will make another mistake by keeping MM, going with 3 QBs.

Denver scrubs looked horrible last night against the Cardinals first team... only scored twice for 10 points.

Going 4-0 in pre-season is a curse for Denver... team automatically loses in away game opener.

We don't stand a chance on September 11th! ;)

Yeah, I agree.

Its too late for any QB to come in an learn the playbook & not get the practice reps to run it. A 3rd string QB at this point of the season is basically someone who emulates the opposing teams QB.
