I posted yesterday that I did not see where Sherman could have adjusted much of anything, and just watched the replay. Here is what happened pass by pass.
1st Quarter
Possession #1- complete with no pressure, safety blitz sack, no where to go, RB's fault.
#2- complete with no pressure, bubble screen gets busted for loss, sack with nowhere to go.
#3- complete no pressure, scramble inc bad throw, inc, no pressure, bad pass.
#4- Inc, no pressure, bad pass, drop by Heartline, inc, scramble middle, bad throw.
2nd Quarter
#1- comp with hlding and a hit, comp no pressure, sack no where to go.
#2- comp, inc bad throw, comp, comp, comp RB flare out, sack S blitz, no chance.
#3- comp no pressre, inc bad throw, inc bad throw.
Halftime- 9 of 17 for 73 yards, 2 drops, 6 bad throws, 4 sacks with nowhere to go.
3rd Quarter
#1- Sack with nowhere to go, inc bad throw.
#2- comp no pressure, drop by Hartline, throw away from pressure.
4th Quarter
#1- Sack, RT injured, Moore- inc no pressure, 50 yarder no pressure, Int
#2- inc with a hit, inc Wallace overthrow with a hit, throw away from pressure.
#3- throw away, inc bad throw, sack on RB, bad throw with a hit.
#4- Moore comp, inc, and a pick.
Tannehill goes 10 of 27 for 82 yards, with 7 sacks, 4 hits and 13 hurries.
In re-watching the game, RT was horrible with many a bad throw not being anywhere near close. He also had a ton of pressure (17 0f 27 throws, not including the 7 sacks) and a few big drops.
I did not see anyway Sherman could have adjusted with any hope of success. Buff had a LB or S lingering on RT's right until the play was in action, and McKinnie was getting beat up to the left. Add in the pressure up the gut at light speed. IMO, roll outs and read options would have only made the tackle quicker, and more painful.
I also saw Sherman keeping 2 backs in with Clay, one back, and a second TE. Nothing worked because no one he used can block worth a damn.
Say what you will on Sherman, and he does warrant criticism for some of what he has done. However, this abortion of a game was not on him. Everyone on O Sucked, other than Clabo.
