What is the situation with Tannehills contract? I thought this upcoming offseason was the year that we could get out of the contract without taking a huge hit. If that's the case and we aren't in a position to draft a QB or we don't value the ones available that high then what do we do? We can't go into another season with RT as the starter. Do we try and get a Romo or Cutler as a stopgap? Any other QBs worth trading for?

We could take a shot and see if Cinny would take a third or second for A.J. McCarron...he could not be worse than Tanny right now...no hate..just a thought.

Post June 1 cut and the dead money would be 5 mil. Its workable.

We Have to cut him loose and this is from a former Tannehill supporter. I finally realized he doesn't have the "it" factor. I think he could run a team that is solid with a star back and stellar line, as long as the D was top 5. On a mediocre team or below average he won't win games by himself, just won't.

Thank you. That's very reasonable. That should be a no brainer but we are the Dolphins so who knows. It seems like we should be able to free up a lot of money by dumping some bloated contracts. Pouncey and Albert both need to walk

I would not use the post June 1st designation on him. Why spread his dead cap over 2 years. If you can fit it in 2017 cap which I think you can then just do that, this team is flawed and wont complete next year anyway with a Rookie QB, so why not take the entire cap hit in 2017 and be clean instead of spreading it over 2 years post June 1 designation

Good post; I agree.

Sure, that makes sense. But the team was severely flawed coming into this season and we still chose to restructure Suh - as if we were just one move away from a Superbowl run. Logic is lacking here.

Don't know why we didn't just draft him in the 5th instead of Arthur Lynch or whoever it was we took.

How would a Tannehill for Cutler trade work under the salary cap? Drafting a rookie and throwing him to the wolves with this OL seems like a losing proposition to me. Having a placeholder for a little while IMO is a better way to protect your rookie.

We all know that Cutler and Tanne are hot garbage right now. That's not the question. The question might be if the actually few strengths that each provide, which would help the organization more.
