Ryan Tannehill is a polarizing figure for many on Finheaven. That is a very sad state of affairs because it is almost disgusting to witness the reasons why.

It seems about half of you believe he is the reason we haven't had much of long ball game this year. You state this as fact, as though your declaration proves it. You never provide reasons why you think RT is a fault, except to state that he simply cannot throw a long ball accurately. You say that he's regressed so badly since last year that we don't even attempt a long ball. For you, any other reason for our lack of a long ball game is just an excuse. What a sad, overused cliche. Especially, by pundits and fans.

The other half of you appear to get it. You realize that football, especially professional football as played in the NFL, is a team sport. You are aware that for any long ball play to be successful, favorable conditions must exist and several TEAM factors must first be executed properly. While not all of you have played football, much less QB, about half of you see that conditions are not right for our offense to be successful with the long ball at this time. Many of you see that it is truly amazing how well we've done, despite lacking the ability to throw deep. For that, I give much credit to Lazor. Although, I believe Lazor still has a lot to learn, as any first year OC would.

This thread is notabout helping, or recruiting others to help, those who blame Tannehill to finally see the light. No, I simply want to thank Tannehill for firmly and graciously exposing, beyond all reasonable doubt, those on this forum who haven't a clue how the game of football is really played. :hi5:

Everyone should read this.

But, "herp derp Tannehill can't throw a 50 yard pass in 2 seconds of dropping back and running for his life? He sucks. Bring in Sanchez. Atleast he got to the playoffs"

People these days

ATL_PHIN_FAN, major kudos bro for an absolutely brilliant troll of haters, with an innocent look on your face and nice smile all the while.

You bossed it out. :brewskis:

kid must have really needed to pee. that water is very yellow.

That's the kinda trash you see when parental "figure heads" find it funny hearing their toddler say over and over again what sounds exactly like **** you. Pretty trashy. I feel very bad for that kid, he doesn't have a chance.

Here's the thing: He's not elite. He's good, and I think he can get there, but he's not that right now. He certainly hasn't been that in his time here.

And yet we are treating him like he's elite and setting him up to fail. I think everyone agrees that our OL hasn't been good the past 3 years. I think everyone agrees that our receiving corps was downright awful in 2012 and has not been spectacular in 2013 or 2014. And we're asking the QB to throw the ball from the shotgun 40 times a game without running the ball, without rolling him out, without employing a boot game... without really doing anything that would be considered smart given our personnel deficiencies.

So that's why I think our QB is a good player who is part of the solution. We are asking him to go out and be Tom Brady, and even though he's not Tom Brady, he has still played better than most and given us a chance to win just about every week. He's better than the pieces around him.

Trust me, ive really witnessed so many people who really dont know anything about football. You are correct.

Yeah yeah, the usual "you don't agree with me, so you don't know the foosball" routine. Pretty tired on both sides, TBH.

The video is perfect for the thread, though. A baby sitting in his own piss saying "**** you" but having no clue what he's talking about, despite thinking that he's totally nailing it.

Lol.. Great post all around

Just wanna say one more thing . . .

I never said Ryan Tannehill was great. At this point, he is simply a very promising young QB; who might be a future franchise QB for us. I think he has the potential to take us to the promise land, IF we give him the supporting cast to do so. Thus far, while we have tried to do just that, we have failed to.

However, one year of sound coaching and recruitment across the board is not enough to right the wrongs of the past. This off season will be critical for our team and Tannehill's development. This is why I'm willing to give the current staff at least one more season to see what can be done. If we make any changes, that could upset the upward trend we are seeing in our QB play and our offense.

Our offense is looking promising, but it is nowhere near as productive or confident as it could be. Potential does not get you into the playoffs.

No question, we are all so very disappointed after seeing some truly exciting play from this team this year. I think many of us can sense that we are close. Having most of the QB question solved is a major relief, and a green light to confidently draft and otherwise acquire the remaining pieces that will make us a perennial playoff team.

Hard to buy your argument when guys like Drew Stanton are throwing long balls with anemic running games and less than stellar o-lines. No more excuses. It's a real problem. The sickening part is seeing people refusing to acknowledge it is a real weakness for Tannehill.

Tannehill is still a boy. He isn't a man yet. He sounds like he's still a college kid playing QB in the pros, with real men. Not saying he will never be the man we need him to be but, his main problem is, he is still hasn't acquired the silence confidence of being a grown man yet. He isn't secure in his decision making skills, he looks like a guy who isn't too smart or accomplished with lives REAL issues. He probably hasn't been through too many tough situations in life so, overcoming is something he is also learning. Seems to be a book smart kind of guy, with a lack of real life issues. Starting QB, pretty wife, probably used to getting whatever he wants. He's got the skills, it's everything else that's his problem. He needs to think he can do it but, he doesn't have the proof, in his past to use as evidence that he can overcome and lead this team. He's a leader of men, who has to be everything a leader is and I think, he doesn't feel he can do it.
