Why is it everytime tannehill throws an incomplete deep ball or makes a boneheaded play thats all we hear about. But when the kid cleans up issues he has had all year like fumbling the ball or pocket awareness nobody praises him for correcting mistakes? No fumbles in 5 games and his pocket presence has clearly improved he has been escaping alot more lately. Why no love?

The lack of fumbles and movement in the pocket is due more to tackle play that isn't complete garbage than to anything he's done, IMO.

Excellent points.......of course the T-Hill haters are not going to want to hear that :-)

Certainly plenty of love from me. He looks like a completely different guy out there with regard to the pass rush.

I agree. I was never of the opinion that his pocket presence was terrible to begin with (at least not for a QB at the beginning of his 2nd year). Give him a pocket and magically he has more success moving in it. Who would have thought?

Not having J.Martin AND the DE slamming into your back has helped the fumbling issues. Pocket awareness will continue to develop. He didn't have the luxury of a full college career at QB.

I'm really excited with the fact we were forced to give the ball to Lamar Miller 20+ times. I can't wait to see those same 20 carries against a lesser DL. If we can get some balance on offense it is going to make life a LOT easier on Ryan Tannehill. I'm very encouraged about how Ryan has taken better care of the ball.

Andrew Luck was sacked 5 times and fumbled the ball twice against the Titans yesterday. Having a terrible OL will affect any QB, even the ones who are considered to be the best at moving around in the pocket.

Ryan has improved his pocket awareness in part because he finally has a pocket to work with. I still can't believe we didn't sign B. McKinnie sooner.

the fumble thing was always overblown...this is not matt moore handling of the ball we are talking about...completely overblown

Right so that would mean that if the line all year had been better than it has been his overall performance would show that and he'd in all likelihood have even better stats.

He is almost there. Just imagine if Brandon Gibson and Justin Keller were healthy.

I think it's a combination of the two. On Tanny's 17 yard scramble I noticed again that he never took both hands off the ball while being pressured. Earlier in the year, every once in a while, when there was traffic around him, he only held the ball with one hand. I haven't noticed him doing that at all the past few games. That is improvement and although slight, makes a huge difference.

I had no desire at the time to give up a 2nd for Brandon Albert, but through the clear prism of hindsight, even with the bad calls including the one the jest got against the Pats which we didn't when Sturgis was trying that long FG vs the Ravens, one has to believe we'd be at least 2 or 3 games better from our talented young QB having more proactive time in the pocket with Albert protecting his blindside. With McKinnie now onboard, the value of at least an average LT can't be easily dismissed. The mind boggles what we could have been accomplishing if Keller wasn't cheap-shotted and Gibson stayed healthy also.

yeah i saw that...definitely more conscious about the ball in traffic and protecting it...little things like this show growth in that regard...
