### What did we see of Lazor’s offense Tuesday? Lots of: shotgun, screens, motion, dump offs to running backs, three-receiver sets (one with tight end Charles Clay lined up on the opposite side), two tight end sets, sets with either one back or two backs with each lining up next to the quarterback and a few read option plays and a receiver reverse.
The Dolphins huddled “most of the day,” but “there will be times we operate a different way,” Lazor said. “If No. 1 [top receiver] is one-on-one, we expect him to win and we expect to throw the football.”

### Mike Wallace loves the offense: “It’s fast. It’s going to be good. We catch a lot of people off guard. We got a lot of play action, a lot of shots. I feel like I know what’s going on. I feel a little more in control.”
Philbin likes how Wallace is doing a lot of work on his own. He was the last one to leave the field Monday. “He feels a lot more comfortable, better about being a Dolphin,” Philbin said. “Really like what he’s doing.”
### Lazor is a no-nonsense type and made clear Tuesday: “They’ve got to get the communication ironed out right away. We’ll make that point real fast to them.”

### Finnegan joined Brent Grimes as the first-team cornerbacks and said when he’s playing at his feisty best, “I’m a jerk. I think everyone will attest to that.”
### With Marcus Thigpen out with a back injury, Jarvis Landry, Brian Hartline, Brent Grimes and ex-Titans receiver Damian Williamsworked as returners. Williams and Landry will be the primary competition for Thigpen when he returns…

Armon Binns caught a 70-yard bomb from Matt Moore, beating Taylor, and will push Williams and Rishard Matthews hard for the No. 5 receiver job. The Dolphins love Binns' size (6-3) and have issues with Matthews for reasons unrelated to performance…

1. I am very lukewarm having RT changing from the offensive system he has been used to.
2. I hate the LB set up. I do not like some of the players nor the fits.
3. Joe seems candid of his feelings toward Wallace and it is good to hear the positive vibe.
4. Too many think Bill Lazor is going to come in and make revolutionary changes to the way the offense has played. That is not going to be the case. It will be about the players execution and consistency. The jury is very much out for me when it comes to Lazor.

I love that JT is helping out the d-line. Perfect mentor for Dion to have in there watching film.

Love what Lazor is doing. He's the best thing for Tannehill right now, and for the whole offense.

Knowing he's doing so much with the TE's, I hope we have enough talent there to work with.

I read a couple reports from the beat reporters and I see the usual Tannehill overthrowing Wallace picked right up where he left off last year.

i read that also and was disappointed but this year I got a feeling it will be a major focus unlike last year where it seemed to be an after thought.

Whatever Lazor does has to be an improvement. We will never win with our 2013 offense and the points per game scored. I too am wondering if Tanny can adapt to a new scheme but hey, he's an NFL QB so he has too or will sit the pine the rest of his career as OC's come and go.

I am excited about the changes however slight but I think the changes will be significant. Say goodbye to vanilla, predictable play calling.

Ryan&Mike need to get their timing with each other down.

Philbin having issues with Matthews ticks me off. What did he do, leave a chewing gum wrapper on the floor? Philbin wants an easy job where he doesn't have to get his fingers dirty.

Matthews is an ascending player who had, what, 40 catches in about 7 games? What's more, he has fight in him. He is competitive and strong. He is the type of player we should be cultivating. It reminds me of how Philbin got rid of Marshall.

Do your job, Philbin, and coach these guys up, and stop trying to take the easy way out. If you wanted an easy way out, you should have taught junior high geometry or Latin. Dealing with challenging personalities is part of an NFL coach's job description. Did Jimmy Johnson get rid of Charles Haley? No, he won super bowls with him. Get your head out of your ass Philbin.

You're reaching dude. Were you there? How do you know what happened? People jump to hilarious conclusions sometimes.

I agree bout him seeming to have a problem with players. Seems philbin is to quiet and reserved to be a head coach and doesn't know how to connect with players.Your not gonna get along with every player but your job is to make it work and get the most out of your guys. Not sure he can do that.

you’ve got to be very demanding. If you’re demanding but didn’t go a good job explaining how you want it done, then you’re a jerk who just yells all the time.

“If you do a great job teaching it but you don’t hold them to a real high standard, then their play is only going to reach a certain level and it’s going to stop. But if you can do a great job teaching that 'this is what I want done and exactly how I want it done’ and hold them to it every single day. Every guy has traits that can be improved, but if a quarterback is accurate and he’s decisive, you get a feel that you can work with him. You can mold him. You can push him.”

wow!! where has this guy been all our lives? when he made that statement about "if your demanding but dont do a good job about teaching it, all you are is a jerk that yells" he had me right there. we have had so many of these types. some guys can teach but they dont hold people responsible. it falls apart. then you have the yellers and screamers who cant teach and they get written off and the players start ignoring them. we have seen that also.

i have wanted a young, fresh hungry offensive coach for a long time and we FINALLY have just that. this offense has me fired up about buying season tickets and i am 3,000 miles away!!

ARMON BINNS: he was dominating in camp last year before injury and he looks like he has come back the same way. TANNY, i worry about him in this offense. as i mentioned before, and was brought out by lazor on what he must improve on are his weaknesses of not being able to make quick decisions, holding the ball to long and not being accurate down field. we shall see, theres a lot of camp and pre season, but i am not sure this is the right offense for him. he has a LOT of work to do this off season. but what i here from the players and lazor himself, i am more exited right now about the O than i have been in 15 years or better.

NOTE: has ANYONE been noticing how MIKE WALLACE is never being taken to task about the down field issue bewteen he and tanny? only tanny. and rightfully so. it amazes me how everyone has piled those issues on wallace and saying he sucks and they want him gone. this is one of the most gifted and fasted wr's in the nfl and one of the few wr's who defensive coaches have to plan around. just him being on the field is worth paying him as they have to put people on him. he is much more than a decoy though and if tanny can get his game together, in this offense, he is going to be a heart attack!! like last year, all they say is "he is the first guy in and last guy out every day and is doing a lot of work on his own besides the team practices".

what a diva huh?

Issues with Matthews beyond performance, does anyone have any idea what that could mean?

Rishard Matthews on the way out of Miami?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews is on the outs with the team because of "losing focus" and "not learning as quickly as coaches want," the Miami Herald reported. It turns out Matthews isn't "a Joe Philbin favorite" despite catching 41 passes for 448 yards and two scores in limited playing time last season.

The Dolphins drafted LSU receiver Jarvis Landry with a second-round pick, a sign the team is ready to move on from Matthews.

Never heard of this guy but this may be what they are referring to.
