Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has every reason to complain about pass protection the past two seasons. A year ago, Miami set a franchise record for quarterback sacks allowed with 58, and the protection has been inconsistent in recent weeks this season.
However, one of Tannehill's best attributes is his mental and physical toughness. He's never complained about constantly taking hits and hasn't missed a game in three seasons. Tannehill is slated to make his 46th consecutive start for Miami.
“I’m confident in those guys,” Tannehill said of his offensive line. “Obviously, it was a tough day for us, not just them, but the offense in general. I didn’t lose any confidence in those guys. They are fighting. They are out here every day to get better. I know they will never give up and neither will I. I have a lot of confidence in them going forward and I expect them to do well.”

“Each team kind of decides how they want to play that particular scheme. It varies,” Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said of Miami’s read-option. “Sometimes it changes within the game and sometimes it changes week to week. It’s something we look at every week and determine how big of a part it will be of each game plan.”
“It probably helps the confidence for sure, but, at the same time, there has been a lot of football between then and now,” Tannehill said. “Each game is a new game. We know these guys. They know us. It’s going to be a good matchup. We just have to go out and execute for a full game.”
