Philbin is the best thing going for tannehill. He has helped groom great quarterbacks in the past and was smart enough to let tannehill go out his rookie year and play.

Tannehill fits the west coast system, understands the terminology, understands what the coaches are asking out of him, etc.

Philbin and tannehill are what this team needs. Miami must have consistency at QB and HC. Changing every other year in hopes of getting lucky and landing something better is foolish.

Tannehill has power in that Ross and most in the organization see him as the franchise QB. He shows enough good as a 2nd year QB to warrant that hope.

If he tells Ross you get rid of Philbin then I want a trade it will surely make a difference.

And how exactly would Tannehill "go" should Philbin be fired? Tannehill is under contract and it's unlikely the Dolphins would just release him or trade him, except perhaps in the fantasy league you're running in your head.

Is this a joke?

What rookie QB is going to do that?

Besides, who did Philbin develop in GB? No quarterbacks, that's for sure.

They might all be gone in a year if we don't make progress in the second half of the season.

Tanny would be pretty stupid to hitch his wagon to a coach. Heck, even Marino never said such a thing about Shula.

I don't know where some of you people come up with this stuff. Wow

I hope that we keep Philbin. However, if a change is made, Tannehill will have to learn a new system. It happens all the time in the NFL. I don't believe that players should issue ultimatums to owners, insisting on who they are prepared to play for. Tannehill is a polite high character guy. I doubt that he is inclined to issue an ultimatum to Ross.

That was the most preposterous combination of drivel I have ever read. My IQ didn't drop after reading it, I completely lost it.

Not going to happen. Imagine if Peyton Manning said that before Jim Mora got fired...

We'll if Philbin is out you can bet there's a very good chance Tannehill is out.

New GM= new coach = new systems and new players.

Imagine going back to a 3-4 defense. Hooray for another 5 year plan!

This would probably work out as well as if i went to my boss and said i want to pick my co-workers.Steven Ross has a lot of money on the line here. Do you really think he'd let one of his employees run his company for him.

you think Tannehll has been good enough to play hardball in any way, shape, or form? Half the members of this forum are pondering drafting Mariota Manziel Teddy etc for a reason. Tannehill still has a long way to go, and the "it" factor is still missing IMO

Well maybe if Philbin put it like this:

Exactly how many seasons in the NFL will Tannehill be a rookie?

I keep hearing people refer to him as one.
