Tannehill's Contract.

Now, finally based on fact, we are currently $7.6M under the cap this year. This will change with Wheeler and draft net cap hits. I'm thinking we will have around $10-11M left this year.

Next year, we are now $4.8M over the cap. Very happy with this deal. What a difference from what was first reported.

The team is completely in charge here. Tannehill's agent did far from a good job but, RT apparently loves Miami, and is betting on himself.

Yep....two years to prove it...if he doesn't, cut him, save some cash and move on

As KD posted, we are committing to an extra $7M but, it's a pro rated signing bonus. IF RT does not work out, and I believe he will, we are risking that $7M to get out of the deal. That's nothing to "hedge your bets" for a potential franchise QB.

Tannenbaum "Big Red" and Hickey did well.

Thats an excellent contract for two reasons.

1. It allows us to get out of it very easy after two years if RT17 doesn't progress and we found a viable backup solution

2. If he does well we have him signed for modest numbers (considering once we see Wilson and Luck's contract signed) during his prime

Both sides are betting on growth within his game.

Yeah, if this does not work out, the team is on the hook, cap wise, for $7M which is nothing. If things work out, Suh's cap hit is reduced by $13M in 2017, and Tannehill is an easy fit. Pretty much what I was expecting/hoping for.

Have to give Tannehill A LOT OF CREDIT for betting on himself like this. GREAT to see.
