It got overshadowed a bit because of the final result, but Ryan Tannehill turned in yet another stellar performance against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Tannehill produced four touchdowns when he matched his career high with three TD passes and added his first rushing score of the season. Even despite a late interception, which came after intended receiverJarvis Landry deflected the ball high into the air and into the waiting arms of safety T.J. Ward, Tannehill finished with a passer rating of 104.9.

It marked the second consecutive game with a 100-plus passer rating for Tannehill, the first time a Dolphins quarterback has accomplished that feat since Chad Pennington closed out the 2008 regular season with four consecutive games with triple digits.

After beginning the season with three games with a passer rating under 80, Tannehill has moved his figure on the season to 93.4, good for 11th in the NFL.

But it doesn’t take numbers to see that Tannehill has come a long way since the start of the regular season. It’s plain to see for anyone watching Dolphins games.

“I think Ryan is getting better,” offensive coordinator Bill Lazor said Monday. “I think he’s playing with control. I have a lot of confidence he’s only going to get better. He’s a competitor. He likes to run the ball. I think he’s feeling better and better about what we are doing in the pass game.”

What the Dolphins are doing in the pass game is emphasizing the short and intermediate passes, and Tannehill has thrived in that setup.

As proof, Tannehill has done something no other Dolphins quarterback has ever done — not Dan Marino, not Bob Griese, not Chad Pennington. Tannehill has completed at least 70 percent of his passes each of the last four games.

The number i like is 20 TD's vs 8 INT's . Good stuff from our QB

I would really like to post something of importance or an intelligent follow up here, but this is all I've got for the moment:

It's great to see. Just keep getting better and better Ryan. Next step, deep passes and game winning drives. When Dan was playing and the game was on the line I had the utmost confidence we were getting into the endzone. I want to see that next from Ryan. As great as that Denver game was when we had to drive to take back the lead, I doubted it was going to happen and sure enough a turnover, his fault or not.

But he's come a long way front those opening three games this year.

Not much needs to be said. I admit i had my doubts especially after the way last season ended but the kid with the help of Lazor has become a real productive QB the last several games. Let's hope that continues and he closes out the year strong. He's got to if we have any chance of getting to the promised land.

A happy byproduct of his growth has been a restored order to the forums. Those with suspect opinions guided by very clear agendas have been in hiding the last month or so. Enjoy it while it lasts Cuz at the next game with a sub 100 rating they'll come out like ****roaches in a crachouse when the lights go off.

No ****, this is the face I make when I see another amazing throw on the run from Tannehill, like the first down to hartline in Denver

It was always baffling to me that people early in the year seemed to think he was an inaccurate quarterback all of a sudden. A guy just doesn't all of a sudden lose the ability to throw a football with accuracy...now that everyone's comfortable in the offense you'd be hard pressed to find anyone complaining about ball placement.

Yes it is baffling. And I took a lot of heat early in the season for trying to tell people he is an accurate QB. Oh well, hopefully they got the message.

Also here is another stat that I posted previously.

His pocket presence has gotten much better as of late, and I think that slows the game down for him. Also letting him use his legs more has helped. I hope he continues to grow at this rate, and the deeper routes, and long ball come along.

He really is looking like the guy we've been trying to find all these years since Marino.

If he can get his deep throw timing down... holy ****. Thats all I'll say.

I'm sold. Need to keep making sure he evolves, but I think the move from Sherman to Lazor has done the trick. Most folks don't realize that Sherman is really the only OC he has known in both college and the NFL. He needed this change and it shows.
