Or is he the worst GM (defacto) in the Conference?

This is timely because of Maxwell's noticeable suckage, the running game's impotence, the realization that he sacrificed a few mid round draft picks next year by trading up for a WR we really didn't need who at best will be a #2, and that the majority of his draft ignored the defense, etcetera and so forth.

As doomed as I think we will be with him as our "czar," could it still have been worse, namely Grigson, Colts, Whaley, Bills, Telesco, Chargers and maybe Mike Smith, Bengals? Or not??

What do you think?

It could be worse. Those guys you mention suck and whoever is running Cleveland probably does too.

Jimmy Haslam's lawyer whose running the Browns. Whaley.

But other than those two? Theres a good chance i'd take any of the other 13 GM's over Tannenbaum. And i really dislike some of the stuff Reggie McKenzie, John Dorsey, and Telesco have done.

Finheaven, when making your list: as we sit here at 0-2 and see just how big of a hole our team is in talent wise, recall we don't have our 3rd and 4th round picks in next years draft.

those 2 picks we're now missing hurt. They're counting on getting a comp pick in the 3rd and 5th round but we could have those plus the ones we gave away. I won't judge that trade yet as we don't know what Carroo will do but if I'M the one making that trade I'd only do it for a guy that's going to start from day one and that was never going to be an option. I like the player but not the trade.

Ozzy rules!!

Jim Irsay / Ryan Grigson immediately spring to mind.

The moneyball guy the Browns hired.

The Titans front office.

That guy in Buffalo.

And I don't even like Tannenbaum.

I wouldn't actually put Mike Smith on that list. I know it's nuts, and Smith is a terrible person and not the best owner, but he's done OK lately. His strategy seems to have just been to draft consensus guys that most draft experts think are gonna be pretty good and maintain a decent coaching staff and it has worked out OK. The Bengals haven't been great but they've been in the playoffs every year.

We suck just like the browns. 15 years of awful football. Comparing us to them is stupid when we both ****ing suck.

I gave him a chance but when he traded the 3rd and 4th for Caroo that signaled to me that we are getting the Tannenbaum version that worked with Rex. Garbage! If Gase was on board with that then its going to be another very long 5 years.

Anyone know the succession plan Ross has in place?

Traded next year's 3rd and 4th for our 4th WR. Brilliant. That's how you build a winning roster.

And I actually like this Carroo kid, but that trade is one of the worst this franchise has ever made if we retain Kenny Stills and Carroo remains WR4.

One of the pluses of letting OV and Miller sign elsewhere was the extra picks next season. Made no sense in squandering those precious assets for a guy who probably wont contribute much this season. Long term he may be a good player but that's a high price to pay for a fourth WR.

Yeah the Carroo trade was bad.

Tannenbaum has a really strong position. Not sure what it will take to dislodge him.
Only hope would be that Gase was Ross's white whale. Game may be able to dislike him, but at minimum he lasts until the end of next season when we clear cap space and go on a spending binge.
