Of course going up against Orton is one thing. Taylor’s second start will come against Denver quarterback Peyton Manning, a five-time MVP and future Hall-of-Famer.
“He’s the best quarterback probably in NFL history,” Taylor said. “He’s a coach on the field and he makes everybody on his team better. It’s going to be a big challenge for us. I’m not trying to go out there and be Superman. I just want to go out there and do my job, make some plays and just try to get a win.”
While Taylor says coaching and the guidance of Finnegan and Brent Grimes has made him a better player, he believes he’s always had the ability to start.
“I was hurt,” he said. “Then you’ve got two Pro Bowl corners playing in front you. That’s just something you can’t help. I felt like if it was any other team, maybe I would have been a starter.”
But he’s also not ready to say he’s made it.
