i did not get to see the game last night... i heard the secondary was not playing their bestest. just wondering how our rookies were doing. Sean Smith??? Vontae Davis??? can anyone give me a little update with them!!! thank you

Noone in the secondary looked good. Vontae dropped an easy INT that hit him in the hands and Smith got completely toasted on a big 3rd down over the middle

I'm sorry for bumping up this thread. But I have to add my input

As I watched the game and payed close attention to our secondary. It seemed like everytime one of them made a tackle they'd kind of show-boat. I'm not talking about running around, but just little stuff that really annoyed me. It would be different if they made a huge play or something. But we're talking about giving up a 20 yard completition and them getting up and flexing their muscles, not actually flexing, but just kind of showing off... and screaming like they did something good

Was it just me, or was it a little over the top?

The rookies are celebrating too much, but that is expected.

You're exagerating here lol. I didn't see them letting up 20 yard completions then celebrating after the tackle. However, I did see Smith celebrate a little after Leftwich made some bad throws when the man he was covering was open. I also saw Smith slap his hands in frustration after allowing some catches though so it's not like these guys are just settling for a tackle after the catch.

Smith was a little too celebratory on incompletions where he was beat and Lefty made a poor throw. Then he'd shake his head like it was due to his coverage or something. Not necessary...if he's gonna look up to Nnamdi, learn to to be humble like him too.

I agree. I like Smith. But this kid is celebrating over a bad pass. If the pass was good, they would of been completed. I counted 4 passes that should of been caught because he wasn't even close.
He's a rookie, understood. But if he wants to start he has to be better. Tampa wasn't even playing their starting WRs last night.

If it weren't for bad passes, Smith and Vontae both would of been burned on many occasions.
Of course, our Oline sucked it up big time too. But thats another thread.

I'll just say that neither are as good as some people are saying they are. Not just yet.

yeah, i was thinking what the hell is he celebrating for.. He didnt look good last night at all.. Stovall was toasting him basically the entire time they lined up together.. Did you see that 3rd down conversion to Stovall, with smith covering him.. Smith got burned as bad as I have ever seen a corner get burnt.. rest assured the coaches got on him for that and he shouldnt make the same mistake twice.

thank for input.... i heard that they were not looking to great. i heard one of them was thrown right over their back and head for a completion and they were in such bad position they couldnt even turn for the ball.

i hope that when the completions were given up that there was a tackle right away... the showboating is unnecessary as well, i do agree. i not fond on people dancing over every play.

I don't care about the youngsters celebrating. They're enjoying the experience of being in the NFL and they celebrate when they make a play because its confirming to them that they have the talent to succeed in this league. The fact of the matter is that if they start getting burnt in the real season, where that one mistake could cost the entire team big, I don't think they are going to feel like celebrating anything and they won't.

I dont know about Ronde but Cox was abusing Hartline, literally. He just kept playing dirty. Cox just kept pushing and grabbing Hartline's facemask yet Hartline gets a a penalty for a phantom push off that was next to no contact.
