Interesting prospect, big guy at around 6-5 260 lbs and he certainly knows how and is willing to block- Tannehill and Lamar Miller should love him off the bat just for that. Big player with good bulk, especially given his height. Monstrous calves, good base, he can hold his own on the LOS.

As a receiver, he has some niftiness to him, can get open and make the tough catch away from his body, arms extented laterally or up for the catch, fights for the ball. Good example here of him lining up wide and making a move to get open, beats his man and goes up to fight for the ball:

I look at Lynch as Fasano II, and that's fine by me. The one missing element that I see is the pure speed to be a true seam buster, but then again we have Charles Clay for that, maybe Gator Hoskins. I could see four TEs on the opening day roster: Clay, Sims, Lynch and Hoskins- 2 blockers and 2 more pure receiving TEs. I'd rather see Egnew in training camp before writing him off, but he'd better show something quickly if he wants to stick around.

You can see Lynch used as an H-back here at :40

This one is just practice, but it shows a bit of a burst as Lynch runs away for the Georgia defense for a TD:

Solid prospect, not spectacular, but given how horrid the OL was at pass pro and run blocking I'll take him. Safe 5th rd pick at a need position, that's fine with me, seems to be a high character guy as well. Personally I was kind of hoping for QB David Fales with that pick, but I'm glad to have Lynch aboard.

Lynch is one new of the few Lazor style TE's in this draft. Big target, red zone threat, good 3rd down option, has the ability to run block pass pro and be a receiving threat. This disguises play calling and helps create mismatches as well as allows for more flexibility against blitzes.

The TE position is one of the most flexible positions in the game today. If all you want is a receiver, then you should play an extra receiver. If you play a TE he should utilize his greatest asset--flexibility.

Lynch is like Fasano, but maybe not quite as talented. But, Lynch is already much better than Sims and offers way more flexibility than any other TE on our roster. I definitely see Lynch making the final roster and playing as a rookie.

I also can see us carrying 4 TE. I can't way to see this new offense operate!

I like Sims more than Lynch, and see him fighting for a roster spot with Egnew, who did improve his blocking. I can see keeping four TE's but, have to wonder if Keller may be one of them.

Let the training camp battles being...Going to be very exiting...

1st year TE's almost never do much.
I expect a large jump for Sims this year.

Already better than Sims?? Based on what?? A practice in shorts?? Sims is better than Lynch and will be ahead of him on game day.

I sure hope you're right.
