I think by the 4th rd. we should pick someone to back up Drake given his injury history. Here is a link that talks about his injuries at Alabama:

I like Williams, but this draft has a plethora of RBs.

Miami Dolphins: Expect to see the Dolphins connected to running backs throughout the offseason, though the team would be best served focusing its attention elsewhere. Miami might have uncovered a high-end starter at the position when it elevated Kenyan Drake to replace the traded-away Jay Ajayi midseason. Drake averaged 106.8 total yards in his six starts to close out the year -- and he looked damn good. The data confirms the eye test, as Drake ranked third-best among running backs with 100-plus carries by averaging 4.55 yards gained after defenders closed within 1 yard of him, per Next Gen Stats. Miami has a litany of needs to address this offseason and would be best served passing on major additions at the running back position in favor of letting Drake try to pick up where he left off.

If CJ Anderson is cut, he's the ideal target. IMO we shouldn't touch a RB before round 4.

One of the guys I like is Phillip Lindsay (5'8 190lbs). He may be a little on the small side, but he plays with a lot of energy and passion. Reading on nfl.com that he's a 3 down player, can catch, and pick up the blitz. Gase likes to rotate his backs anyway, so hopefully that will go a long way to keeping Drake and whoever we sign or draft healthy.

is the old adage of complimenting Drake with a big back out of the question? I assume in this day that as long as the back is versatile, who cares?

We need a pounder, bigger dude that lays the wood. Id be ok with cja

ahh another former Gase connection. How have those worked out for us?
Do you think Julius Thomas and Jay Cutler failed because they had a connection with Gase? Or is it because they were players on the downside of their career? CJ Anderson is 26 years old coming off his first 1000 yards season...

Ahh, another lazy connection with no foundation whatsoever... How has that worked out for you in the past?

add Bushrod and Larsen. 0 for 4

What does any of these players have to do with CJ Anderson except for the fact that they have a connection with Gase? Are you saying that every player who has a connection with Gase is a bad football player?

Lazy? Ok. Here we go, I love discrediting so you will be humbled after this. Buyer Beware:
12 yards against Oak
37 against Cincy
13 against Philly
17 against the Giants
36 against Buffalo
48 against the Jets
44 against the Chargers

This is the same issue Ajayi had. Feast or famine. And as for a versatile back, he had 5 games with 0 catches. and a whopping 10 games with 4 catches or less, with a total of 1 TD in 16 games receiving

based on our history, yes

CJ would be a good addition and probably will want to be in Miami with Gase and Studesville. As far as a bruiser RB, De'Veon Smith is a possibility already on the roster, he isn't fast but he can get 1-2 yards when you need it.

Wonder if that had anything to do with the putrid QB play in Denver.
