Team Preview

Lots of what we’ve been saying. I don’t agree that RT will be a dink and dunk QB going forward. He’s going to hit the intermediate routes at a higher rate than past years. It’s not like he doesn’t have the arm strength to do it. And his mechanics should be better as he’s had more time to watch film, break down his strengths and weaknesses, and analyze the game from the sidelines. He started right out of the gate in Miami. He was raw coming out and and didn’t sit a year. This time off should have been a nice refresher for him in that sense.

People are going to see the Tannehill that Gase envisioned coming to the job. This guy is tan, rested and ready. Dink and dunk, bull crap!! He always had the arm strength and with an improved o-line he'll be firing the ball all over the field. We have elite speed on offense and the way to maximize speed is to stretch defenses.

McMillan wasn’t on the field last year. The fat guy said not much has changed on defense except for the addition of Fitzpatrick.

Pretty good overall. Didn't mention the addition of Alfred Wilson at wide receiver and kind of glossed over the loss of Suh. But I like the optimism. I agree this team could be a playoff team with a healthy Ryan Tannehill coming back.

I thought it was a nice take from guys who had just as little information as the msm outlets that have been trashing us.

I think whats special about this group is the talent/youth/promise we have across the board almost everywhere.

There is alot to like about this roster but certainly a lot of unknowns as well.

ZACTLY!!! I've already listed players who will get significant snaps, but weren't on the team last year (or, like McMillan/Lippett, weren't active). When I look at the starters for game one last year and projected starters this year, I see more upgrades or laterals than downgrades. If Gase can reduce penalties/missed assignments and call plays like the last 5 games of last year, I see a better team.

I disagree with their analysis, honestly. They claim we had almost no change in our defense … really?!?!?!? So, we lose an All-Pro in Suh, we bring in a 1st round draft pick in Minkah Fitzpatrick, and last year's 2nd round draft pick in Raekwon McMillan to address a defense that had a hole at FS and lacked takeaways (Fitzpatrick) and was horrible against the run because of a hole at MLB (McMillan). Then, we added a former Defensive MVP nominee caliber pass rusher in Robert Quinn. That's 4 MAJOR changes to the starting 11. That's not even counting having TJ McDonald for the entire season, or bringing back Tony Lippett, or the breakout performances for Xavien Howard and Cordrea Tankersley. That's not even considering our substitutes like coverage LB Jerome Baker. It's not considering our FA pickup Akeem Spence, who isn't too shabby.

If our defense isn't changed from last season, I'll be very disappointed.

Better communication In the back 7, returning injuried players, MF, > freelancing suh... = better defense.

I didn't listen to the whole thing but no mention of Wilson & Grant?
I agree with you guys that our defense should be better this year. Faster for sure and hopefully they play good TEAM defense.

I'm not surprised that no one outside of Miami is aware of Grant. As for Wilson, he has a lot of upside but the surface impression is that of a part-time player whom KC let leave.

I was with them until "virtually no change on defense". They lost all credibility with me after that. Lippett and Mcmillan coming back, add Minkah and Baker coming in, Anthony looks to be on the field a lot more, Harris sounds like he's coming on strong and will be on the field a lot, added Quinn and Spence....I don't see how you can deduce that our D is exactly the same. They won't even look like the same team IMO if only from the style of play.
