Team Reort from USA Today

Interpretation of what all that meant:
We don't have a clue what Miami's FO is going to do next, as we got a lot of egg on our faces last year, so we'll just concentrate on the issue of whether BP will stay with Miami or leave (despite the fact he and everyone else has said he's not going anywhere).

I got something completely different out that story. I paired thier ideas along with some others of areas we need to address. These are people who are paid for thier opinions. Not just fans on a message board.

Of course nobody knows for sure what BP, JI or TS wants to do. If they did, then those guys wouldn't be very good.

If i had to make a guess I would say we will draft a dt in rd1 and use f/a to adress the wr, ot and cb positions but then i am hung over this morning .

man i didnt see that fire hydrant that i hit accidently last night. I know that gyser that gushed up froze over in the air and it looked like a cartoon.

back to dolphin football I bet we will draft 5 out 7 guys on defense but what I want to know is how many dlinemen do we need ?

"Merling seemed to hit the rookie wall midway through the season, but Langford blossomed and capped off his rookie year by picking off Brett Favre for a key pick-six in Miami's AFC East-clinching victory over the Jets."

Last time I checked it was Merling who got that Pick6 not Langford so I'm not putting to much stock in this report; however, it was pretty in depth.

good read.

and that merling pick was the only mistake i noticed too.

One of the biggest things that I am noticing is the regularity in which there is a call for a WR. This article states "This position must be addressed in the draft." Mel Kiper also has us using our first round pick on a WR. There are many on here, including me, that believe that this is a need for this team. I am not sure it is a first round pick need though. Unless it brings us Boldin.

I don't get those people at all. Look at the history of Parcells like teams in the draft. It will not be a WR.

it did mention that the finz need to adress the DB's and WR's
in the draft.

thats good enough for me. someone is on the ball at usa today!

AND I CANT believe that people wince at that or they dont notice.

its like a sore thumb on this team! we average a tad over 17 points
a game! what more can ya tell somone? that sure wont get us anywhere
we want to go. you have to score POINTS to win! points come from the
passing game.

our wr's can not seperate from ANYONE and dont score at all!!

no. bill parcells is not going to pick a wr in the draft 1st round.

and that is a mistake on his part [yes, bill is not infallable]. but
we need to find REAL wr's in the worst way. seems like everybody
but bill and a few dolphins fans dont see what the real need is right now
and that is POINTS!! lb's and nt's and back up guards are not going to
be scoring points in the endzone.

long story short, people are saying it and prediciting it because WE NEED IT!!

relax on the wr talk, parcells will go o line and d with draft, the recievers we have will be fine as the running game becomes more consistant and productive

I for one agree. We do need more offense and I see it just the opposite as some others. Our run game will be more effective with a better passing game. We averaged 4.6 yds per carry. So the line, even though patched together, did a decent job. Add one good true #1 WR and our offense could be vastly improved.

i think O-line and defesne are much bigger needs then a receiver right now.
we cant expect ONE person to turn the team around. if he even did good enough to make that possible, opponents would simply tighten up coverage on him.

a stronger O-line and defense give us MUCH more control of the game and gives us more oppurtunities to throw the ball. especially considering how much a better O-line would improve our running game.

A true #1 still makes plays when covered. Additionally, if they tighten up coverage by doubling #1 then that loosens the defense elsewhere. Like #2 & 3. Or the running game opens up because the safeties are not up at the line.

More control? We controlled the time of posession even against the Ravens D. We were 9-1 when we won the time of posession battle. Our o-line will be better when our 2 guards return healthy.

WE ONLY GAVE UP 25 SACKS LAST YEAR!!!

thats nothing. and we had back ups in at guard for significant
amounts of time. our wr's just are not dominant in ANY fashion
and THAT is what the problem is. new qb who was acurate as
all hell. o-line gave up 25 sacks. hmmmm, whats the problem?

NO WR'S!!!!!

translated, no points. not enough points anyways.

ronnie brown is NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM belongs in
the pro bowl. he is a major part of the run problem.
when he was in the I or any type of regular run package,
he FAILED MISERABLY!! he is alwys injured, coming off a major
knee injury. he is not consistant. but everyone holds him up
like he is this irreplacable god!!! we can do better at rb.

yeah, i know....... BLASPHEMY!!!!

ricky? it was obvious he was mailing it in. no competative spirit,
just fine with him carrying a few times. blocking for ronnie? ok
by him. and both of these guys missed many, many cut back
plays this year. ricky is just being a nice guy and colecting his
child support money.

the o-line ALWAYS gets the blame in miami. but everytime we let one go,
they do just fine on other teams! hmmmmmm........

our skill positions [outside qb] suck right now. untill we get a dominant wr
and rb, it will be 17 points and a cloud of dust for miami.
