Here's my analysis from another thread. Enjoy.
Ok, here's my analysis of what I saw from the game. Excellent pass blocking from the first string OL! Except one play where Ferotte made the guy miss and threw the ball to Chambers.
The outside running game was there, but the middle was clogged. Good blocking by the TE and WR's to seal off their man, except one play where Chambers completely missed his man, but Ricky shook the heck out of him and Chambers picked up the next guy down field.
Wasn't impressed with Minor, I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut next. I'm really impressed with Diamond, kid can play in this league.
C and G positions need to open up more holes in the middle for the run game.
Defensively, I like what I saw from the first team. Good coverage by Daniels, hope he's not hurt seriously. All I can say is Keith Traylor! Wow! Man was in the backfield more than the other team it felt like sometimes. Even when he wasn't getting the sack, he was breaking up plays by shooting the gaps and getting in the backfield. We were lucky with a couple of drops by the Jags. I like the new schemes Saban is implementing defensively. We haven't been this unpredictable in a while.
Qb situation: Wasn't impressed with either Gus or Feeley, but did Feeley even throw for a first down? Gus threw for two first downs, but that still sucks. Sage did well, the TD pass didn't look pretty, but he didn't look like he was throwing it up for grabs either. He still doesn't look like a starter, he could be a good backup though. Berlin did well too, excellent throws to Mann on both passes. He telegraphed one to I believe it was Newson that got batted down. He needs work, but does have some good tools, someone is going to sign this kid to be a third string developmental Qb.
Wr: Chambers looks good out there and Boston looks good. I don't see Booker getting the separation he used to get in Chicago, but I think it's because he never runs any go routes anymore. The CB's from the other teams are squating on the short stuff.
