Carmelo Anthony, Denver
Gilbert Arenas, Washington
Shane Battier, Memphis
Chauncey Billups, Detroit
Chris Bosh, Toronto
Bruce Bowen, San Antonio
Elton Brand, L.A. Clippers
Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
Dwight Howard, Orlando
Josh Howard, Dallas
LeBron James, Cleveland
Antawn Jamison, Washington
Joe Johnson, Atlanta
Rashard Lewis, Seattle
Shawn Marion, Phoenix
Brad Miller, Sacramento
Chris Paul, NO/Okla. City
Paul Pierce, Boston
Michael Redd, Milwaukee
Luke Ridnour, Seattle
Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix
Dwyane Wade, Miami

Add Reddick, Morrison, and Oden to the list and what are the 15 that make the final cut? My guess would be:

PG - Paul, Billups,
SG - Kobe, Wade, Reddick
SF - James, Battier, Pierce, Melo
PF - Marion, Brand, Oden
C - Miller, Howard, Stoudemire

Dukies are obvioulsy going to have an advantage, and I'd guess after the initial star picks like Kobe, Wade and James the coaches will be looking for role players and defenders. 'Melo only will get in b/c his former coach is an assistant.

I'd like to see Shawn Marion make the team. That man is dynamite.

If redick makes the team I will not watch a game. He does not deserve to even be considered. Let's get REAL great shooters if we need shooters.

They are trying to put role players on the team rather than just stars. We ned some guys who are defensive specialiosts and 3P specialists as well as the stars so the list isn't bad.

It's ok I understand your confusion. Obviously you haven't watched the guy throughout his duke career and have relied on the media to tell you how "great" he is but this "great" shooter has NEVER been top 3 in his own conference in 3P shooting, never been top 30 nationally in 3P shooting, never hit a GW shot in the final moments despite numerous OPEN looks and NEVER shows up for the NCAA Tourney.

This year is by far his best year but it's a year that CBB is very down and the ACC is very down. His 3P % is 43% which is by far his best and 43% is not great and by the way his % is sinking like it always does this time of year. His prior 3 years he never even shot 41% from 3 and in 2 of the 3 years shot LESS than 40%. is that a great shooter?

by the way he isn't among the top 100 in 3P shooting % this year:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/leaders?groupId=50&cat=3pt&sort=PCT

he is leading the ACC in 3P shooting for the 1st time ever but his % is dipping and he may not hold onto that title and there are only 3 players that have qualified to be ranked so it's not like it's that big of deal.

Let's look at his #s in the NCAA Tourney(11 career games):

-51 of 138 from the field(37%)
-24 of 87 from 3(28%)
-21 assists to 23 turnovers

This is a guy we want on our Olympic team? I always here about how JJ can be a Steve Kerr in the NBA but what people fail to realize is that Kerr shot 57% from 3 in his 1 season w/ the 3P line in college- 57%! JJ hasn't even shot 41% for a full season. He is overhyped and not a true great shooter. yes he has the record for most 3 pointers made BUT that is more a product of him shooting more 3's than anyone else.

No KG!!! No SHAQ? Duncan?? Bowen!!! Are u kidding me???

There is an open invitation to Shaq if he feels up to it physically. KG turned them down as did Duncan. I think a large part of building the team will be Coach K deciding who hes comfortable with. There is a reason so many Duke players are on that list of 25. Sheldon Williams may be considered as well.

Rudy Gay is a better college 3P shooter than Redick and he is a 6-9" wingman.. Redick has range and hits at about 40%, which you can hardly call a deadeye shooter.. He isn't even as good a shooter as Trajan Langdon..

Gotta agree with nyjunc....

42% is a good number for 3 pt. shooting in the NBA....it is okay in college...

Reddick is a volume shooter...and would be a disaster if he was put on this team.
