Tebow returning for his senior year...

The chances of the Florida Gators winning their third national title in four years just improved dramatically. Quarterback Tim Tebow, already being called one of the greatest players in college football history by some, announced Sunday that he will be returning to Gainesville for his senior season.
The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner revealed his decision at the end of a short speech during Florida's national championship celebration.
"Oh by the way, one more thing," Tebow said. "Let's do it again. I'm coming back.
"I've felt attached to this place and wanted to be loyal. I wanted to walk what I say."
Tebow led the Gators to a 24-14 win over Oklahoma on Thursday night in the BCS Championship Game and was named the game's outstanding offensive player. He bounced back from two first-half interceptions to complete 18 of 30 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Smart decision Tim . . . Florida automatically is favored to repeat and will be the #1 ranked team in the country when the season starts.

Florida has a very favorable schedule next year. I only see one tough game (at LSU). But then again, they can lose that game all they want anyway, and still have the BCS hand them the national title game, because they are from the oh so terrifying SEC.
I could actually see the Seminoles playing them tough next year too.

2008 Season:
- 6-2 Bowl Record (most wins, 2nd in winning percentage)
- Bowl wins against Texas Tech & OU (2/3 of the cream of the Big-12 crop)
- 3rd National Title in a row

That builds on amazing 2007 & 2008 season. The SEC was "down" this year and still the only conference that could possibly say its as good is the Pac-10 had a horrible season and a great bowl month.

Will you people finally realize that the SEC is the greatest conference if (hopefully) next year they take care of the Pac-10 next?

You people need to stop being so defensive. The SEC is the best conference in college football - there's little argument against it. I wouldn't consider your arguments for it being the best as to why it's the best. I think the ACC is vastly underrated by the public, and even though the Sagarin rankings had them as the best conference at the end of the regular season, I think they're two years away from being as tough as the SEC.

Anyway, the point I was making was that the media acts like whoever comes out of the SEC deserves a shot at the national title, and that's completely FALSE. I don't know who the two best teams were this year, but I think USC was definitely one of them, and a great argument could be made for Texas as well. I guess that's why these past 3 title games fit the 'mythical national championship' description that's been labeled on the BCS ranking system. I'm glad Congress is getting involved, because the BCS is stealing money claiming that they have a true national title game.

No doubt the BCS needs to go--I don't know if its congress' job to do it.

I have no problem with the SEC reaping the benefits of being considered the strongest year in year out--at least they show up.

The Big-10 was reaped this benefit through the mid 2000's and lost 2 title games and countless other BCS games. The Pac-10 had the early 2000's where UCS won 1 title game.
