Two weeks ago tonight, Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn made an impressive catch on a long touchdown that helped deliver a win over the Jets.

On Sunday, however, Ginn was back to eating pre-game popcorn, with multiple key drops in the 46-34 loss to the Saints.

Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen (who likely still has a pipeline to his former ESPN colleague, Bill Parcells), Ginn will see reduced playing time going forward.

Mort also said that, if the trade deadline were tomorrow instead of last Tuesday, the Dolphins would be dialing up the Ravens and offering Ginn to the team whose offensive coordinator, Cam Cameron, drafted Ginn in 2007 with the ninth overall pick.

So why didn't the Dolphins do it last week? In hindsight, it would have been a great time to sell high, with Ginn looking great against the Jets.

As a result, Miami missed an opportunity, and now they're stuck with Ginn through the balance of the season.

Unless they eventually decide to cut him.

I think the Ravens remark wasn't serious, as it was more of a jab at Cam Cameron for picking him.

The front office gives him the benefit of the doubt and doesn't make a trade for a receiver like Bowe or Smith...then Ted goes and thanks them by dropping that many passes...

Makes me sick..

time to bench Ginn and his family and just keep moving forward.

Ginn wount be Cut. But the Smart thing to Do is just too sit him out the whole season. Makes me sick that theres guys on this roster working there Arses Off to get a spot at Wr AND Ginn hasnt done crap and Is still. STILL the number 1 WR.

Give the number one spot to Camarillo or Bess. Bench Ginn and Activate Patrick Turner who knows Maybe he will be A little Better. Put hartline in there. HE HAS MORE TDS THAN GINN............ He had the same if not one more catches then ginn and had 92 yards. He deserves a shot... he proved it

Sparano is the one with the infatuation with Ginn, always seems to be taking it easy on him in post-game comments. I think at this point Ginn is more of a liability than an asset, so I'd relegate him to kickoff duties only.

That way all of our other WRs, much more trustworthy than Ginn, get the ball (Camarillo had one wtf moment when the refs say he "tossed" the ball out of bounds - but he's still sure-handed and gets more YAC yardage than Ginn, who is twice as fast as him).

Hell, I'm desperately waiting for Ginn to break a return for a TD, he's done it before and has the speed to do it again.

Good point by PFT about the missed opportunity of not trading Ginn after that Jets game. Even if we could've only gotten a 4th rounder. Addition by subtraction.

Staying with Ginn as our "#1 WR" for two seasons in a row is by far the Trio's biggest mistake thus far.

Doghouse? More like the ****house on a Tuna boat. Bench Ginn? But we CAN'T, he keeps the Safeties honest. Note sarcasm there. Such a stale argument. Send Hartline on a few fly patterns and in the meantime enjoy the better WR blocking with Ginn out of the game, marvel at the site of a Dolphins WR who shows some toughness and can actually catch the ball well. Let Ginn do what he should- return kickoffs and come in as a #3 on obvious passing downs.

I'm not sure where Ginn stands salary cap-wise, but I would imagine that in lieu of a trade we're stuck with him for 2 more years. As Jason Allen has been phased out of the defense, maybe on a lesser level Ginn will be phased out of the offense. Let him concentrate on returning kickoffs, his apparent specialty. Let him keep eight out of the box on third downs. Let Hartline start, he's earned it. And let Patrick Turner at least show what he can do.

If we pick up a good nose tackle in the draft, the 2007 draft could be completely gone in three short years. Thanks a lot, Cam Cameron.

All ofthese comments about missed trade opportunities. How do you know Ginn wasn't offered? Rumors had it he was on the block. That doesn't mean somebody else will want him. The Bowe trade. How do you know the price wasn't to high? It's one thing to make a trade, it's another to make a dumb trade. None of you knows what was going on behind closed doors.

You guys forget...we can dump ANYBODY on the roster next season with no new CBA without cap hits. IMO this IS going to happen because the owners want it. Think about it, for guy like Jerry Jones and Danny Snyder, it's like a free do-over....cut all the dead weight and money you wasted on FA's and 1st rd. busts.

:d-day:

NFL's richest owners:
1) Paul Allen, Seattle Seahawks: Allen is the 11th richest person in the country, worth $16 billion.

2) Stephen Ross, Miami Dolphins: Owner of half of the Dolphins, Ross is worth $4.5 billion and ranks #68 on the list of richest Americans.

3) Malcolm Glazer, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Glazer comes in at #165 on the list, worth $2.5 billion.
.
.
.
7) Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys: Worth $1.5 billion, Jones is tied at #317 with fellow owner Arthur Blank.

Any trade of Ginn would be a smart trade. I just don't see it that any other team would want him. He has zero dimension to his game. 2 games he has cost the Phins. he is a liability and needs to be releagted to the bench, and let Turner get some reps. As for now, I'm all aboard the drafting Rejus Benn.

They may be the richest, but they don't spend money like Jerry and Danny....the Bucs are like $60mil under the cap with a horrid team, they don't want to win, they want to make money off revenue sharing.

True. Theoretically, Ross has the 2nd biggest wallet but it's only a matter of if he wants to open it or not.
