The answer to this question after 1 year is not looking good at this point.

Steve Smith was phenomenal in the Super Bowl game.

that's what happens when you have a good qb throwing the ball to you eh? I think things are just fine.

well lets look at the stats:
Smith:5 gms, 8 rec, 63 yards, 0 TD's
Ginn:16 gms, 34 rec, 420 yards, 2 TD's (plus 1 PR for TD-should have been 3)

Hmmmmmm..... who would you rather have.
i know smith did good in the SB but look at their seasons. ginn ad much, much better season and smith was hurt through most of the season

I'm not going to harp on this situation anymore.

I was in tears when we passed on Quinn but Ginn was my favorite player coming into the draft but I thought he was a reach at #9. With the way things panned out I'm happy. Miami was going to have a season like this weather Quinn/Smith were on the team or not. And if they weren't then we wouldn't have the VP or staff we have now.

So, I'm more than happy with how it worked out.

They're really not comparable. Smith was drafted by a Super Bowl team-Ginn was drafted by a team that should've gone winless.

The answer is simple, Eli has been in the league now for what? 3 or 4 years! Beck, 3 games.
Ginn had a better year than Smith who could not get on the field because he was hurt all year.

it's like asking who would you rather have Dan Marino who's never won a super bowl but is a hall of famer because he was one of the best qb's ever, or Trent Dilfer who won a super bowl riding on the skirts of his defense... Giants won the super bowl because the dfense played outstanding and Tyree made a sensational catch to keep the winning drive alive. Smith made a couple of catchs big deal thats what he's payed for and he didn't do squat during the season. Ginn improved every week and should have had 3 td returns instead of 1. Beck will be a very good qb in this league be it with the fins or another team but he will be solid when gets to see the field for an extended time not just for 3 games in which 2 where palyed in terrible weather with no running game,TE or defense.

Ginn is a work in progress and that is not what #9 pick overall should be. we reached on him.....i don't see beck staying here long or becoming a backup.... i say we lost .... but look at my handle and you already know how i felt about the draft and cam/ram

Come on, give me a break... You cant even compare the two because they are in totally different situations. If Ginn was on the Giants rest assured he would have produced a heck of alot more than on the Dolphins and a heck of alot more than Smith. The only thing that Ginn needs work on is his ability to find the hole and hit it hard on kick returns, other than that, he runs great routes and has great hands. He'll be fine IMO

So you gathered this synopsis from the 3 road games in extremely hostile conditions and horrid weather and 1 home game the rookie played in? Lol... Oooo Kkkk... :sidelol: doesnt make much sense, but hey, its ur opinion so

We'll regret not taking Quinn for years to come. Ginn is good and will only get better, but I think Quinn is going to be a great QB in this league and we'll never forget passing on him.

Definitely a possibility, but we have an incomplete data set on Beck. Simply put he is an unknown quantity still.

How could we feel passing on Quinn for years? We have the #1 overall pick and our chance at any quarterback we want. Ryan/Brohm are both better prospects then Quinn maybe Flacco too. Ginn is the pick I've come to love and with Quinn there would be no Ginn.

So I'm happy with where we are. Now let's not talk what ifs.
