I know many of you will start talking trash about Ginn and that he is a bust, yarah, yarah, yarah...

But just take a deep breath and think, Ginn is the speedy type of receiver who is a really nice threat when throwing him the ball for a down field pass, thus far, we haven't had the type of QB to do those throwings nor the system was planned to do that.

If you want to start talking trash about him, do it with Henne's era, he is the type of QB who is supposed to make deep throws with a strong arm and the system is going to be modified, because we can not run the ball all year long with an 8 in the box from opposing defenses.

If you were about to talk trash about Ginn, just wait until we see him creating some chemistry with Henne, I'm confident that Henne to Ginn will be one of the most threaten phrases we are going to hear in years to come.

GO PHINS!!!

He's being bashed because he has dropped passes that HIT HIM IN THE HANDS in very important moments

i dont see ginn succeding without a true #1 WR like bowe. Then he should explode on to the scene with one on one coverage where he would burn his man and have Henne throw him the ball.. They would complement each other well

It was one time against Indianapolis, even Fitzgerald got his drops in the end zone in very important moments last year.

And he made up for them with tons of crazy catches. Ginn has had only two that I can remember. I want Ginn to succeed, I really do, and I've backed him for awhile. But he really needs to step it the hell up now.

However, like mentioned, if we did have a #1, and Ginn would move to the #2, I think he would be much better. That would give him more space to do what he does.

I sure hope you are right.

I do think ginn has his chance to shine more now that we might actually have a QB that can get the ball to him in stride. But. I also agree with baseballcb95 in that I think he may need a true number 1 on the other side who can get yards after the catch (like R Wayne or B Marshall). I hope we are wrong on that part but i just have this feeling that ginn may never be a true number 1.

Imagine a dolphins offense if Chad Henne turns out like we all hope with a Reggie Wayne type as our number 1, Ginn as our number 2 speedster and bess/cam/hartline in the slot.

I think part of the reason we don't have that true number 1 receiver right now is that the front office did not want to spend what it was going to take to get an awesome true number 1 with us planning to use chad Pennington at the helm all year. I also think it is unlikely that we trade for anyone this year as the pickings are pretty slim. (it would have been nice to get Boldin from AZ but at the time he might have been avail it would have been risky)

Right. its not Ginn fault he dropped two would be touchdowns and two would be first downs in consecutive games. u guys are blinded by reality

Ted Ginn will not be as good as Hartline at #2. He can't run routes, he has no willingness to be physical and actually fight for the ball, and most importantly, has developed a contagion to catching the ball.

For three years his supporters have said just wait until the third year which is when receivers break out. It's his third year. His skill set has not improved. Step up now or be gone.

People..IT IS GINN'S FAULT..What is so hard to understand this..He is not a go to guy..He dropped catches the HIT him in the HANDS..nope thats not his fault at all..

Its funny when you said this I was taken back to a time when similar things were going on with Chris Chambers.

Chambers Catches

For a while there the only way to get chambers to catch the ball was to put the pass in the air where only one of his crazy circus catches could drag it in. And he struggled being a really consistent true #1.

I totally agree with what you said at the end "Step up now or be gone"

But I really don't think we should give up on him until we see if we can get any chemistry with Henne. If not then see Ya later...

Basically the OP is saying he really has not got a chance to even try with henne which is true. The chances are low of Ginn all of the sudden becoming way better but it is not impossible so we are still holding out hope for him.

He needs to step up or he will be gone at the end of the season having run out of excuses.

Okay, judge Ginn only based on Henne throwing to him...Chad Henne has thrown to Ginn 8 times, Ginn has caught 1 pass for 4 yards and has dropped several other passes. In laymen terms - Ginn SUCKS!

You just took this debate in a different direction. :chuckle:

You are right Ted Ginn sucks! He might as well quit the team himself and give up!
If you believe that is the case fine. It does not hurt us to hope for him to improve even if it is unlikely.

I guarantee his teammates have not given up on him yet, why should all the fans. All I am saying is that I think there is a possibility that he could become a decent number 2 in the right circumstances. And his chances may go up now that someone might be able to catch him in stride on some deep routes if he can get some separation. How many times last year or this year did you see CP throw a deep ball to Ginn that he did not have to slow down/come back for.
