This one is for the apologists. I'm done making excuses for him. Please look at as body language before he almost got to the ball. Yep... he gave up.

Like the man said...big players make big plays. To me it looked like Ginn was worried about the end of the endzone...like it was a wall or something....hey teddy...it's only a painted line. :err:

A line that was at least 5 yds away from you.

This from a complete anti-Ginn Dolphins fan who on this play alone will be the Ginn apologist:

I truly believe Ginn was trying to both extend his arms fully while keeping his feet down to make this catch. If this was the middle of the field, I am sure he would have done something different. Whether he catches it in the middle of the field is another story. He basically had little sense of how much end zone he had left to work with.

Now, on the contrary, the potential game winning catch should have been caught. But to me, this is more a function of being out muscled, out physicalled. Ginn is too scrawny to go up and out muscle an NFL DB for a football. This was proven again last night.

Should a good QB make a better throw? Im not making any more excuses for Ginn than people make for Penny. I like them both blame needs to be pointed were it is due, and its not on Ginn. Ginn isnt the reason we are 0-2. I still dont get all the finger pointing at Ginn and so little at the Defense that gave up 150+ YAC.

its getting old, I am tired of making excuses for him. Two passes last night, two TD's. Step it up bro!!!!!

:chuckle: Ted Ginn may be the biggest wuss on the team but I somehow find myself still pulling for him. He's got tons of potential and time on his side. Plus if you replace Ginn with Bess/Hartline/Camarillo we arent in position to win that game. He's the best receiver on our team entering only his 3rd year. He's a vag sure, but he's our vag :aww:

That's all i'm saying. I had my eyes opened last night. It was the same thing last year and it's starting to become a trend. Make some meaningless catches, a good catch here and there when the team doesn't need it but no catches to be the game winner, the hero, the badass, the #1 guy.

Would you hit that vag? Um no. And neither would anyone else in crunch time.

Did Ted Ginn mess up? Yes. Is Ted Ginn soft? Yes. Is Ted Ginn a #1 game changer? No. Is Ted Ginn a solid young receiver with game changing capability? Yes. There's bigger reasons we are 0-2 than Ted Ginn and that's all I'm saying.

As we all should. He is on our team, why would anyone want him to fail? I just dont get it.

Ted just needed one more inch of arm extension and a foot drag and he might have made a Larry Fitzgerald kind of catch. Maybe Ted just runs TOO fast or something. The Dolphins receivers coach needs to zero in the things that will help Ted improve the most and practice hard. Larry Fitzgerald is the best in the NFL ... a definite #1 receiver. He's the guy that all our receivers should be watching game film on.

There's a reason that the Cardinals made it to the Super Bowl. They have TWO star receivers. Larry and Anquan Boldin. It ain't fair for them to be hogging two of them. It's hard to develop a good college player into a homegrown star NFL receiver. I'm hoping that Ted can do it. This is a big year for him. It's time for him to shine.

I do agree Ginn did not lose this game. But he could have won it. Ginn with game changing capability? Doubtful. He hasn't single handedly changed much on his own in 35 games. The fact is, you need to be strong and physical to be a dominant receiver. Look at Steve Smith - he is the same build, but I would take him in a streetfight against Ginn in a heartbeat. Lets not even bring up the superstar receivers like Boldin, Fitz, Johnson, Johnson, etc etc. Many guys of the same build are all tougher and will out fight a DB on most occasions.

Ginn is too slight, too stringy, and not strong enough to dominate a corner in a dogfight situation. Ginn can run the track meet, hope he has his guy beat, and run under a ball. He cannot out muscle a guy for it.

Yes, there are much bigger reasons we are 0-2. But Ted Ginn is a number 9 pick. It is time to get it done.

Can't really say I disagree with any of that except I believe if given a chance downfield he can make tons of big plays that change the outcome of games. If he had caught that last ball we'd all be singing his praises. He had a really good game that ended badly. I'm not going to kill the guy when the defense and coaching does as poorly as they did.
