It starts with they are not professionals, when you build a team with players like that you are destin for failure.

Many people keep defending them, saying it'd be dumb to get rid of our top OLinemen.
I'm starting to think they're just a huge waste of bank, Pouncey especially. Every year he's out for who knows how long with some random surgery. You need stability at the OL -- oft-injured players are not stability.

I was vouching for Miami to part ways with Misi this past offseason because he's glass. And even when he is healthy he's just a JAG

Maybe I'm on the other end of the spectrum, but I'd want to keep all 3 for next season...as was proven this year, you can only fill so many holes in one offseason, lets not pile on more. That been said...I would approach each with about 30-40% pay cut to stay on the roster next year. Otherwise, sure...use the cap savings to try and find someone else.

Need to start drafting better, and stop paying top dollar to guys that can't stay healthy.

But if you keep injury prone players to prevent from Filling holes, all it does is create a hole during the season when those players break. which is worst because you already put up all your tools for fixing holes back in the offseason.

I dont think so, Tunsil can replace Albert, Steen can replace Pouncey and then If you get rid of Albert, Misi, Pouncey and Tannehill, you will have a LOT of money to extend Jones and Landry and sign a guard and a right tackle and some good linebackers

Steen, who plays two games and gets hurt? That's your bank? In the NFL, guys are going to get hurt....it's imperative to have talent and well coached guys that the coach knows how to cover their weaknesses with schemes and playcalling.

I do agree you can move Tunsil over, spend 1/2 the money and get a good FA guard. And I'm not saying keep Pouncey or Misi, or a couple other guys at their current cap hit....just saying that before we start just mass dumping guys we need to have a realistic plan to replace with either someone as talented or near it. Otherwise we're just rinsing and repeating what we have kept doing. My fear is Tbaum goes and spends a ton of cash on 3 or 4 players and then we still end up with a ton of holes that we're plugging with old 1/2 dead players and 6th round picks.

I may be wrong, its early in the offseason process, F me...already?.....but I believe we have 30 mil in cap space. Sign our guys that we know will perform, cut some cap space while keeping these guys if possible and sign one or two very good(not top dollar) type guys. And then draft well(the key). If done right that could be a 3 or 4 game swing for next season and now your looking at 10 or 11 wins.

I always expected this to be a 6-7 win year...the way we have lost has been infuriating....but I don't consider the train off the track I thought it would be on.

The problem is we need to churn the roster and get a whole new mindset of players in. The problem is we are in a win now league and coaches aren't given the chance to churn the roster to get all their players in. You have to build through the draft but there are only 7 rounds in the draft. So coach gets fired, new coach comes in and he inherits the problems left behind. Now he has to churn the roster to get rebuild in his image. And the cycle repeats itself.

These guys are all from past regimes and all have their own set of issues. There is false sense of worth (Pouncey and Albert in the Pro Bowl last year), the injury prone (Jenkins, Misi, Foster), the swing gates on the line (take your pick), and then only a handful of players with the heart and guts that want to get better (Landry, Wake, Jones, Suh).

We will never get a fair read on Gase until he gets a proper roster churn.

I agree, once these players get the big contracts they are never the same. Would love to start players that have something to prove but the only down side is once they prove themselves then you have to worry about all of the injury problems. It's a league wide problem and not just the dolphins team.
