(On NFL.com’s story that came out last week saying some players said he was too harsh on them during film) – “I saw the headlines, but fought the temptation to read the stories. Actually, the week before, I was approached by someone in the organization after San Diego about some great articles about our offense, did I want them? I said absolutely not, do not. One was sent to me, I scanned it looking for what I was supposed to be seeing and then I said please tell them don’t send me any. Because the same ones that sound good at one point, they just kind of take your focus off what you’re supposed to be doing, to do the job the right way. Then, wouldn’t you know, it would be one week later where people were asking me about the negative articles. Same story, same answer. It’s not always easy, but that’s the best way. In this job, you have to stay focused on what you’re doing. I saw headlines, but read no articles.”

Bit of a fluff pice is you ask me.

When he stops running on 3 and 10 we will see about being a head coach

After 10 games as a Offensive Coordinator, it is way too early to tell.....

How can press conference quotes be considered a fluff piece? It's just direct quotes from his press conference.

I envision Coyle is rolling around naked in articles about his defense.

If any of our staff is in line for the promotion it would be Coyle... even though this site has a love/hate thing with him

I think Coyle is underrated big time, even around here, but for some reason I don't picture him as head coaching material (maybe because he's a spitting image for Tony Sparano). If Lazor and Tannehill are as good as people think they are they could get Coyle some shots at a head coaching gig sooner than later, because while I think our D is still underrated right now it won't remain that way if we can make some noise in the playoffs.

Uk, those are answers from coaches I've nevet heard them being so honest and direct. But, I'm not trying to convince you other wise.

Coyle will be judged by how his defense plays against the Broncos and pats. While no one expects the defense to dominate, they expect a solid defense to limit them. Giving up more than 27 pts against either of those teams would be a huge disappointment IMO.

OMG! listen to him speak, he's so dreamy!!!

He may only be the OC but he is the head coach of my heart.

I can tell you that Todd Bowles seems like head coach material. I'm not saying fire Joe Philibin and hire Bowles, but man does he have that Arizona defense playing well. Might be someone to consider if Philibin doesn't make it through the season.

Cardinals just signed him this past weekend thru 2017.
